Byron Cooke [ex No.1 rated Australian radio show anchor from “The Shebang" on Triple M] and Crissy Whalin [ex KIIS FM Los Angeles / Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 voice talent] joined forces in 2005 after a chance meeting at Los Angeles radio station Indie 103.1.
They would later be known as THE B-TEAM, a show name that manages to be both self-righteous [B is for Byron] and self-deprecating [lamer than the A-Team] simultaneously.
The B-Team migrated to Northern California for the opportunity to build a new alternative radio station KMBY / THE 103.9 REVOLUTION in SANTA CRUZ, SALINAS and MONTEREY. THE 103.9 REVOLUTION was voted BEST RADIO STATION by MONTEREY COUNTY WEEKLY readers in 2007. The B-Team was also voted BEST RADIO DJ’s.
Local ratings for The B Team tripled within the shows first year in many key demographics, and in February 2008 the show was taken off 103.9 and placed on a new network of Mapleton owned radio stations spanning other markets.
THE B-TEAM show is now heard on KCDU / 101.7 The Beach in Santa Cruz, Salinas and Monterey, KQPT / 1075 The Point in Chico, CA and KBRE / 92.5 The Bear in Merced, CA. You can also check it out updated every weekday on the B-Team On Demand Player at www.bteamradio.com
