Christmas 1998, Anne Deyo was presented with a gift from her daughter - a card with money in it that she collected from family and friends. It read: congratulations on your first album. Even though it was not nearly enough money to actually make the album, it did contain enough love and encouragement for Anne to find a way. That she did. She completed her first project a year later titled "One Thing I Know", a collection of songs relating to broken hearts, shattered dreams and love in abundance. The album went on to receive both local and national recognition- Songwriters Monthly called it "inspiring" and the Times Harold Record honored her with "Local Album of the Week" describing her vocals as "sweet on the ears with plenty of emotional depth". The third track from the album, Come Back to Me, won a 1st place Maestro Award, which Anne humbly acknowledged belonged to her producer Quanah Hicks . She also won a 1st place Turk award, recognizing her talent as a songwriter.
Anne walked away from music for a while, but her passion lived on. Anne is back doing what she does best- entertaining the crowd with her eclectic musical range, her unique and beautiful voice, humor, and as she says, "just plain fun.""Freedom of will is the ability to do gladly that which I must do"- Jung
