The world is your oyster. Shuck it!

About Me

I am Gabriel Xavier Gilberto Fransisco Ramon Mason-Torres. Yeah, I know that you shouldn't post your full name on wacko/robot full myspace, but I think it's one of my most impressive qualities, so there it is.
Blame my parents, by the way.

I'm in the Army, 115th Brigade Support Batallion, 1st Cav.
Stay Cav and Go Ordnance!
(Sorry, they pay me to say it)
(Not that you shouldn't stay cav, nor do I imply that the Ordnance Corps should not go.)

I'm a (shamelessselfpromotion) excellent cook, a huge (obligatoryselfdeprecation) nerd, and an aspiring terrible rock star.

I almost may be the worst Texan ever, but I'm new, so cut some slack.

(jerk)

My Interests

I'm a rocker. I rock out.

I'd like to meet:

A pirate. Or a ninja. Or a robot ninja pirate. Who lives in space. And has magical adventures. And maybe a talking elephant named poncho with the power to rock.

Music:

Favorite Band:The White Stripes
Favorite Artist: David Bowie
Favorite New (to me) Band: Jaguar Love
Favorite Album I bought recently: Consolers of the Lonely by the The Raconteurs
The Album I've been listening to the most: Vampire Weekend
The Band I've been listening to the most: The Velvet Underground
The Song I've been listening to the most: Welcome to Jamrock by Damian Marley
Albums I've played more than once recently:
The White Stripes - Icky Thump, Elephant, and self titled
Crass - Christ the Album
Juno Ost
Damian Marley - Welcome to Jamrock
Richard Hell and the Voidoids - Blank Generation
Blood Brothers - March on Electric Children
The Velvet Underground - Loaded, White Light/White Heat, and VU and Nico
Eagles of Death Metal - Death by Sexy
The Beatles - Sgt, Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Marcy Playground - Shapeshifter
Fountains of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers
The Rapture - Echoes

Movies:

Good movies based on good books (Clockwork, Fightclub, Trainspotting, etc..)
Kevin Smith, Monty Python, Danny Boyle, Michel Gondry.
Depp (of course), Kate Winslet, Jamie Bell
And anything with Danson, of course (know thy enemy) Those aren't the only movies, actors, of filmmakers I like, or even necessarily my favorites, that's just what comes to mind

Television:

I don't have cable, so I only watch TV once a month or so.
I do miss cooking shows, cartoons, and being able to just turn it on and not having to do anything. Other than that, I'm doing fine without it.

Books:

What can I say, I'm a nerd. I read a LOT. Fantasy, sci-fi, weird old crap, the occasional Manga.
My favorite authors: Robert Heinlein, Irvine Welsh, Douglas Adams, Robert Jordan, Roger Zelazny, George Orwell
Favorite books: Trainspotting (Welsh), Stranger in a Strange Land (Heinlein), Clockwork Orange (Anthony Burgess), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Hunter Thompson), Kitchen Confidential (Anthony Bourdain)
Series: Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas), Wheel of Time (Jordan), the Chronicals of Amber (Zelazny), the Belgariad and the Malorian (David Eddings), the Adept series and the first 15 or so books of the Xanth series (Piers Anthony)
I've started reading a lot again recently, and that makes me happy
Right Now I'm Reading-
Fiction: The Drawing of the Three by Steven King
Non-Fiction: The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan Last Books I Read-
Fiction: Choke by Chuck Palahniuk
Non-Fiction: Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser
Next Book I Plan to Read : A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
I used to read comics, but not that often anymore. My favorite superhero is Ragman, because nothing's tougher than a dude whose superpower is taking souls.

Heroes:

MacGuyver.
He can do anything, maybe including stealing Ted Danson's woman (ya better watch out, Danson!)
