About Me

I am one of the few, masochistic folks out there trying to learn Korean in DLI. If I make it out of this year-and-a-half mental marathon constantly barraged with the feeling of stupidity every day I get out of school . . . I be the man. When I'm not at school tearing my hair out trying to learn the day's lesson, I'm a laid back guy than can immediately turn goofy and spritely, given the right motivation (i.e. talking to other goofy, spritely people; lots of coffee, lots of alcohol; promise of lots of coffee and alcohol).

My Interests

Jogging on Pebble Beach, pestering the hoity-toity golfers as I track mud onto their fairways. Kayaking the Monterey Municipal waters weaving by sea lions (those guys hit like line-backers, ouch!). Chillin' at either Old Fisherman's Wharf or one of the many views in 17-Mile Drive. Recently took up some Tango.

I'd like to meet:

1. People I haven't seen in a long time.2. People who I'd like to see for a long time (which mostly means until I move out of Monterey)3. But if I do make friends I keep in touch with after I'm out of the bay, that would be cool too

Music:

Currently listening to Muse and Maroon 5.

Movies:

Last movie: Forbidden Kingdom. Surprised me a bit. Watch it of only to see Jet Li and Jackie Chan fun filled-ly fight each other in more ways than one.

Television:

Starting to understand Korean TV more. I can quickly point out "Yes," "No," "Please," "Thank You," and "Pass the kimchi I'm starving." (Cultural note: Normally, Koreans don't ask to be passed food bowls at a dinner table. They just pick pieces of it with their chopsticks)

Books:

Do magazines count?Spin, Blender, Maxim

Heroes:

Valentina Hasan: "KEN LEEEEEEEEEHH!!! BADU BADI BADU BAAAAAAHHH!!!"

What do you do if you find a trinket on the ground while jogging?
