EMBEDDEDIN.LA IN THE COMMUNITY
I have been given a grant to have my design class
at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA to work with
Homeboy Industries on several creative projects.

Students will work with ex-gang members on design
projects. They will document their work via video,
design, etc. In an organic format, student's will learn
about themselves and other target audiences through
creative collaboration.

EMBEDDEDIN.LA main emphasis is collaboration through production and that design + direction = production. They often collaborate with designers, filmmakers, musicians and other artists in the production of their work. They believe that collaboration is a concept embedded in our history. Designers have a responsibility to change the standards and stereotypes of accepted culture by changing their own roles. Check out embeddedin.la's friends .
