Kristel

Hello.

About Me

Well, let's see. I am an Antiques Appraiser (think of Antiques Roadshow) and work seven days a week, but that's alright because I love my job; I get to meet a lot of great people and see a lot of amazing pieces of decorative art and furnishings.Other than that, if you know me, I love to have fun, laugh, and be silly, but I won't sugar-coat it for you: I can also be very serious about things (such as work), I'm opinionated, I'm a neat freak around the home, and am absolutely set in my ways. Still dreaming of one day owning a'69 Boss 302 Mustang.______________________________________ LIKES: When I'm bored I dabble in abstract painting and photography. Other than that I love classic rock, antiques, art deco, jewelry, classic muscle cars, football, shopping, hanging out with my friends, travelling, trucks, tex-mex, and having fun.
What military aircraft are you?
F-15 Eagle
You are an F-15. Your record in combat is spotless; you've never been defeated. You possess good looks, but are not flashy about it. You prefer to let your reputation do the talking. You are fast, agile, and loud, but reaching the end of your stardom.

My Interests

Anything that has to do with art, especially decorative art. From ancient statues and Jing De Zhen ceramics to Louis Majorelle and everything in-between.

I'd like to meet:

Anybody... I love meeting new people! If I had to choose specific ones (real and ficticious) it would be: Eric Cartman, the Tiny Plaid Ninjas, John Wayne, James Bond, Batman, The Queen of England, Shakespeare, Audrey Hepburn, both Captain Kirk and Picard, and Mr. Bubble because he just seems so darn happy. Also can't forget the artists: Edvard Munch, Renee Magritte, Roy Lichtenstein, Georgia O'Keeffe, Umberto Boccioni, Salvador Dali, Piet Mondrian, Raphael, and Peter Paul Rubens-- Thanks for painting women with some curves!

Music:

Classic rock mostly, but I listen to just about anything that isn't rap, pre-1970 country classics, or those sappy love songs.

Movies:

Comedy, action, drama... anything but "chick flicks" Some good ones: 300, Hamlet (Kenneth Branaugh version) Transformers, Citizen Kane, Cars, Big Fish, V for Vendetta, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2, Friday Night Lights, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, X-Men 1-2, and Cinderella Man.

Television:

Well I think I've memorized every South Park episode. The Venture Bros has to be one of the greatest shows ever written, also enjoy Harvey birdman, pre-2000 episodes of the simpsons, ATHF, and The Office. I'd like the a-team, fall guy, and magnum PI brought back to prime time in lieu of the CSI series.

Books:

For fun...the "Shop-aholic" series is great, but don't expect much substance. Anything by Shakespeare, but Hamlet is my absolute favorite. Edgar Allen Poe is up there on the list of favorites as well. That makes me sound so macabre.. I promise I'm not!

Heroes:

Anybody who puts their life on the line for someone else, everyone who stands up for their second amendment rights(with the proper safety training and permits of course), and anyone who believes in more individual freedoms in lieu of more government regulation and laws.

My Blog

Kansas City and BBQ: Theyve got it all wrong.

Who knew I was a B-B-Q aficionado? Well, maybe not so much, but I do love to eat the stuff and I have to say..... Kansas, you've got it all wrong! Yes, I know, I am a little bias toward Texa...

No Italiano: How to Survive Rome

Rome has been a very interesting trip so far. Gorgeous, but I feel there are some things I could have done before I left home to prepare myself for this ancient city. If you are ever inclined to trave...

I know it would be different, if I had never grown up with electricity, it wouldn't be a major crisis when all of a sudden everything in the house goes dark. But I was raised in the age of t...

Ok, so over the last 4 days I've said, "Sorry, I'm new here" or a variation of that, about a million and one times. For those who don't know, I'm currently working as a secretary temporarily unti...
