SXY is a self produced and recorded collaboration between SXY and brother Helgi aka Kid Diskonekted. The two have been evolving artistically and technically for the last 10 years. Progressing from four track grit recordings to learning and operating a full pro tools studio. So who does what, well that’s not so easy.
Kid Diskonekted “We’re both really versatile, and I’m really lucky that we have such great chemistry. Musically we have some like interests but at the same time, really different. I’m big into beats, and I like a lot of low end, synths are important, but I’ve always been a guitar player so our newer songs will hopefully be more guitar driven and a little less electronic. “
Shanine “We’re both just really nerds who love music and do it every chance we get. We love Recording and taking breaks but we’re mainly always thinking about what we should do next. Not a lot has changed we have the same aspirations and still haven’t learned what NO means.â€
Shanine whose initials happen to be S.X.Y. has always had loud pipes and never been afraid of expressing herself. At the age of 2, she stood up and belted out "Everybody let's rock and roll" in the middle of a church sermon.
So what makes SXY so versatile?
Their sound and style is very captivating and if you’ve ever had the chance to see them live you’ll agree they have the talent to capture your attention with their energy and charm. Being half Spanish and half Icelandic may help you understand their unique blend of pop/rock/electronica,
On drums SXY is proud to present Chris "The Animal." He has been demolishing sticks and kits for years, a prolific studio musican, and a great all around guy. Chris lights up local rickter scales, so if you feel some extra low vibrations coming your way, Chris did it.
