About Me

I was only doing this to keep track of the band Hotel Lights... but, hell, I can't even remember if I've ever heard their songs and they have a website now anyway... I think the last time I updated this paragraph was roughly 2003... I live in NWVA, Harrisonburg to be exact and I deliver the news in pleasing baritone every 30 minutes from 4:05-6:05AM

My Interests

Guitar, downtown Harrisonburg, digital cable, thrift stores, city council meetings

I'd like to meet:

Newsmakers

Music:

I have so many damn CDs and Records that somethimes I think I need more cassette tapes. I like all the same stuff that everyone else likes... My all time favorite band is They Might Be Giants and I'm not ashamed of it, not that I should be. I also dig lots of other band like The Flaming Lips, Mike Viola and The Candy Butchers, The Dandy Warhols, The Smiths, Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello, The Raveonettes, Superdrag, Ben Folds (Five), Rufus Wainwright, Bishop Allen, The White Stripes, Andrew Bird, Bjork, Ryan Adams, Sufjan Stevens, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, blur, The Grey Album, Fountains of Wayne, David Bowie, Nick Cave, Elton John, Mates of State, Soul Coughing, Portishead, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, The Streets, Jonathan Richman, Spiritualized, The Coup, The Pixies, Koufax, The Beatles, Beulah, The Decemberists, Interpol

Movies:

I worship at the alter of Wes Anderson. Seriously. I also like Paul Thomas Anderson, Tarantino. Scorsese rules... I've been really into Gangs of New York recently and The Aviator was good too. I think Sofia Coppola is 2 for 2. I thought Napoleon Dynamite was funny. Anchorman, LotR, X2, Spider-Man 2, American Splendor, Joe's Apartment, The Kid Stays in The Picture, Woody Allen, The Zero Effect, 24 Hour Party People, TRON, Kaufman, Swingers and Made, Lock Stock and Snatch. I'm not above Broken Lizard movies and I've got a film studies minor.

Television:

Mystery Science Theatre 3000 forever! The Simpsons. Lost. Mr. Show. Upright Citizens Brigade. Whatever happened to Monster House? Seinfeld. The State. Family Guy. Boston Public. The Daily Show. SNL. Futurama. The Amazing Race. adult swim. Curb Your Enthusiasm. Conan. Letterman.

Books:

Oh boy... my resume in this section is lacking, I won't lie... but I do enjoy Nck Hornby, Douglas Adams, Catcher, Mike Nelson's essay collections & Death Rat, Hemingway's short stories, The Minus Man, Woody Allen, and a book called "Morrissey: in his own words" that I purchased for $9 at a bookstore in Washington, DC's Dupont Circle and will treasure forever.

Heroes:

Conan O'Brien. David Letterman. Don & Mike. Jonathan Richman. RStevens.
