--- ---TRIBUTE PAGE--- --- --- --- I decided to create this profile not only to pay the tribute to great music created by Gods Tower but also to people who stood agains that amazing phenomena that was Gods Tower. They were among first who brought heathen Slavic magic and mysticism to the realm of music. True Pioneers. Almost no other band was able to move me so deeply. Gods Tower during the years of their activity was able to steal hearts of people with its deep, honest, emotional and above all wonderful music, slava to Them! --- The orginal founders of Gods Tower were guitarist Aleksandr Urakow and vocalist Wladysław Nowozylow who was playing under nick Lesley Knife. Till 1992 band was crystalising ideas and searching their own style. Durng that time band underwent many changes both in personnel and name. In summer of 1992 first stable line-up appeared, Lesley Knife (vocal), Aleksandr Urakow (guitar), Jurij Siwcow (bas) and Wladyslaw Salcewicz (percussion). At that time band was known as Chemical Warfare and was playing a mix between death/trash metal. In August debut-tape saw daylight it was called "Demolition Tape". --- By the end of 1992 band changed its name to Gods Tower and style to mix of pagan doom metal. In 1993 demo called "Eerie" was recorded it helped in gaining contract with «Final Holocaust Records» from Moscow for two albums and one Single. In semptember musicians recorded two songs for single "Beyond Praying" however that Single was never published. In 1994 second guitarists joined the band his name was Aleksandr Eristow. During summer of that year videoclip of The Eerie was recorded and with the end of autumn demo Canticles. In same year Gods Tower played for first time abroad, in Czech Rebublic with bands such as : Purgatory, Desultory, Samael and Cannibal Corpse. In 1995 keyboard player Dmitrij Owczinnikow joined the band, however at the same time Aleksandr Eristow left the band. In september band recorded demo The Turns and singed contract with «MetalAgen Records» for three albums. --- During summer of 1996 Gods Tower played in Germany together with In Flames, Primordial, Behemoth, and Crystal Age. In june of that year The Eerie and The Turns were re-recorded in studio Aria located in Moscow. In 1997 band released VHS "Twilight Lives 94-97" and recorded clip for song "Beyond Praying". With 1998 MetalAgen Records released all albums both on CDs and tapes. or next two years band was playing live in Commonwealth of Independent States with bands such as Paradise Lost, Forgive-Me-Not, Vicious Crusade, NRM and Evthanazia. Legion magazined hailed Gods Tower the best Belarussian band of all time. In 1999 «Sturmesflugel» released compilation "Ebony Birds" in august of 2000 band played on Pepsi Sziget in Budapest. --- After returning from Hungary Dmitrij Owczinnikow and Jurij Siwiec left the band due of personall reasons. Lost musicians were replaced with Walerij Nowosielcow and Siergiej Siergiejczikow. Band took part in Baltic Thunder (visited Riga and Vilnius ) and once more made tournee around Commonwealth of Independent States. During that perdiod few new songs were recorded and put on new album called "Abadon all hope". With 2002 tragic fate fallen upon band, at first band split-up and in next year Aleksandr Urakow dies (12.14.2003). With his death legend of Gods Tower ends, as Aleksandr was co-founder and main leader of the band. Slava to Him, Slava to Them all. --- One more album was in plans it was called "Steel Says Last" but sadly it never saw daylight.---
