About Me

Try the BEST MySpace Editor at MySpace Toolbox !I'm the crazy cat lady that lives in the mountains and sings to her garden, while letting it grow wild, just to see what it will yield. I grew up on the border of San Francisco, on the foggy side of the fence. Behind my house was a golf course, separated from us by a band of mighty eucalyptus trees. Childhood was spent in those trees...and in watching them dance in the wind on stormy nights. The moon rose from behind those trees and sang to me on the long, sleepless nights. Leaving the city to live in the mountains was a lifelong goal. That goal took longer than I would have liked due to expectations and shoulds, however I finally made it out of the city, after a brief stop in LA LA Land, because if you can't, you must......Been living in the Sierras ever since in a place where spirits walk. My garden has grown into a wild tea garden filled with hummingbirds and butterflies, and an occasional deer or two managing to come in for a nibble or three...they like roses and just about every thing else.. I'm interested in herbology, and besides watching lightning storms, my favorite thing to do is to watch the light play on the hills around me as the seasons roll by. I have three kids: my daughter, Jamie, living her dreams in Venice, CA; my son, Mike, pursuing a Virtual Reality; and my teenage son, Storm, tall and skinny, making his way through highschool and enjoying youth in the foothills. My husband, Dale is a refugee from Santa Mattel ( I mean Santa Monica). He's become quite the country bumpkin though...he can "mountain time" with the best of em. And he is far more at home in jeans, flannel and suspenders than a shirt and tie...he even wore suspenders to our wedding :). We have LOTS of cats...or should I say ....they have us.....and ..as usual...one wants my attention...RIGHT NOW!!!

another step in time

The wheel has turned and the world is shifting. Today marked the end of daylight savings time for the year. I know that most of the people I know hate it when it gets dark so early. Me, I love it that...

One Misty Moisty Morning when Cloudy was the Weather

Morning comes softly this time of year. The parched dry earth of summer has given way to the soft green of new Autumn grass Quite mists enfold the new born day As the sun rises higher ...

The important parts

These pre-autumn mornings come in softly. The vague mists that lay between the folds of the land glow quietly, rose and gold and dreamlike.   A mother deer and her spotted young on...

Death and Destruction

Woke up to a noise that sounded like something bashed into the house. Dale went to explore and found the chicken coop knocked over with the door ripped off. Further investigation revealed that the fen...

Old hashings brought to the surface for air.

My words have been lost for a while now, but I feel the need to repost this old blog since it speaks so clearly for me: Wither Do You Wander? I think I need a broomstick to ride into the sky I'd zoo...
