A Sphere of IndecisivenessWe find ourselves as if helpless within the confines of a cold, lustrous metallic sphere. Able to see the outside, one observes an infinite dance of particles of light made up of a random assortment of varying colors and intensities, ideas, to which comprehension is impossible to even fathom achieving. Imagine beauty in its most intense form, the awe and power derived from that. This represents the world of change. It has no finite dimensions and to begin defining it involves the collaboration of all the particles of light into one pure white ray, which in itself is blinding to the minds eye. This not only makes us cower further and further into our sphere, but produces the idea, the simple idea, that a world of change exists outside of the cold place we currently lay trembling. Within the sphere, we are safe from the uncertainty emanating from the spectacle around us. For some of us, our own opaque reflected image projected as if outside the sphere, and distorted because of the curvature, is enough of a perceived change to reach contentment. Our unwillingness or inability we have to move or break the massive sphere in which we find ourselves encapsulated in such a state of perceived perfection, along with our desire to venture beyond the theoretically impermeable spherical surface towards the glowing light of change, make up the human problem. We feel deep down, perhaps beyond any level we can comprehend, an almost innate desire for change, and simultaneously are unwilling to reach beyond a static existence as the feelings of normalcy are equally attractive.D.Slobodnjak
