The tale of Io begins in 2007, in a high school music class. Steve Walker, Jason Baker, and Casi Pourfarhadi had an idea to play in the school talent show. Steve and Casi had worked together before in the video game Rock Band under the name "Special Delivery." Sam Hannah was recruited to do lead vocals, but after a while he had to be let go for some personal problems. He's still a good friend and loyal "Ionian!"
After a few really good jam sessions, it was obvious that the band could become more serious. Within a few weeks, they wrote "Io," an eight minute epic instrumental which showcases every musician. The band then named itself after the song and became "the great god of metal!"
Then Wylie Faw joined as co-guitar player. After a couple of months, he had to leave due to "complications." Later on, some guy named Blake came to a few practices wanting to join the band. After saying that he had to go to California for a few months to tie up some loose ends, he never returned. We never even knew his last name...
Then, completely out of nowhere, a guy by the name of Chris Francis comes along. And not only can he play guitar, he can sing! Answering our prayers and pushing the band along. Expect a lot more from Io in the next year. We have plans for a five track demo, more local shows, and hopefully a full summer tour! Keep your eyes out!
Perrier is the official drink of IO.
