The band IPX is on a hiatus
This band has been together for all of your teenage years and for now the band has decided to take a break from playing shows and concentrate on their individual talents. There is a chance of playing more shows or even record a new album, but not until the band gets some things straighten out. IPX would like to thank the fan for being supportive, helping and having the faith in the band.
IPX'S ALI SARIJLOU. THIS IS HIS NEW PROJECT. CHECK IT OUT!!

I posess excellence is a four man punk rock machine that have been playing shows from basements, ice cream shops to bars and many more venues in and around Salt Lake City, Utah for several years now. Hooky, pop punk that is a bit more complex than you are probably used to. Look to find much more than three chords and verse, chorus, verse. With countless shows under their belt, and the release of a 5 song EP titled “Stay Tuned†they are looking to play out as much as possible this summer and fall. Then shifting gears this winter to begin production on a new album for next year.

Sweet boyish vox pitched a wee bit too high? Check. Pop-Punk anthems laced with heavy-ass breakdowns and hyperactive drums? On it. The odd sensitive moment just for the ladies? Natch. IPX's too-skilled-for-punk/too-smart-for-metal musical chops, jigsaw arrangement and sheer vocal firepower (all four members sing) mostly overcome the Hot Topic familiarity of Stay Tuned's five songs, and a few deft production tricks don't hurt, either. Today, the neighborhood ice cream shop; tomorrow, the warped tour's Haagen-Dazs stage.
-Salt Lake City Weekly Review
IPX has been a band for around 7 years now and they come from the US, showing it's not just UK bands that send off their demos for us to review. The four-piece liken themselves to bands like Yellowcard, although there's a far more guitar driven edge to them and less sheen than the band worshipped on MTV. This five tracker is actually very good. The bio put me off a bit - I was expecting something a little bouncy and nasty - but what I got was altogether more pleasing.
Tracks like 'Darkest Road' and 'Six' sound like a more melodic Early November, with driving guitars and plenty of melodies. The vocals work really, really well in places, although there is a tendancy to go overboard at times and some of the higher notes are slightly misplaced. 'Ashes' and 'The Actor' are really solid efforts too, with both having elements of bands like Daphne Meets Derby in their sound, albeit a far more hooky version. The only difference between the two bands is that DMD has had a lot of internet publicity - given a bit of a push IPX could certainly make an impact. You can buy the record for $6 from their website and I'd heartily recommend you check them out.

IPX = Taking Back Sunday + Saves the Day
IPX spin out a golden emo web that catches you in its glossy threads despite yourself. Watertight songwriting and early twenties angst juice up strong chord progressions. Pop-punk spread over emo vocals instantly makes a Popeye out of an Olive Oyl. The interesting time changes, as in “Dook Tak,†has the power to captivate even the worst of ADD sufferers. Sickboy has been home to The Corleones, The Downers, Love/Misery, and is currently home to Glacial and IPX.
