When it comes to creating, very simply put, nature most often is my inspiration. Morning dew drops on a rose petal, how the sunlight or moonlight creates the sparkling and shimmering effect on the ocean or perhaps a tranquil scene of palm trees gently blowing in the breeze those are just a few things that I look for when taking photographs that will ultimately be used for my paintings.My intent is not to make a social statement,rather to convey a feeling, emotion, or perhaps a memory for the observer. If what I feel while I'm creating a piece can be conveyed even in the smallest amount, then I have accomplished what I set out to do.Art is to the eyes what music is to the ears. I want to create symphonies for people to enjoy.I see the physical world through the lenses of beauty and light. “Light is everything”. I appreciate this window on the world as I’m constantly enjoying little nuances of everyday life, such as catching light coming through an iced-tea glass or seeing an incredible composition in a cityscape or junkyard. There is always something new to explore and I relish the challenge of using hand, eye and paint to translate a new subject onto canvas.
