Golf, hiking, video games, grilling out, and Web site programming. I'm a board member and a web-team member of the Ohio Valley Golf Association, a weekend golf league that raises money for Make-A-Wish and other charities. I used to play a crap load of musical instruments (piano, guitar, clarinet, etc.), but haven't done that so much lately. I used to go to concerts all the time, but that has died down with old age too. I have a strong interest of going to Ireland someday. Some of my bastard friends already have. Bastards.I used to be into pro sports a lot, but now I'm rather apathetic. Carson's knee getting popped, dirty play or not, has further added to it. Basically the only pro sports I follow at all are the English Premier League (Arsenal baby!) and the PGA & LPGA Tours. Although, if curling is on TV, it sucks me in.
Cool, down-to-earth peeps
Pretty much everything but current rap and country.
Now on to my other music tastes:
WOXY.com is back! Long Live WOXY!!!
A lot of Indie, too many bands to mention
Metal (Sevendust, old Metallica, Pantera)
Early 90s pop
80s music
The Verve Pipe/Brian Vander Ark (meeting Brian Vander Ark was one of the top five coolest things that's ever happened to me)
John Vanderslice
Stone Temple Pilots
Soundgarden
GWAR (well, not so much the music, but the elaborate live show)
The Black Keys
Forget Cassettes
Sergei Rachmaninoff (that's classical shit)
The list is too long
Fight Club, Amelie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are my favorites. Old School, Dumb and Dumber, Caddyshack, and old school Sandler flicks are the quotables. The 40-year old Virgin was pretty damn funny, too.Lost in Translation and the original Planet of the Apes are the worst movies ever made.
South Park, Family Guy, Simpsons (Seasons 1-10), Sex and the City (it's well-written and hilarious) and Playing Lessons with the Pros. I try not to watch a lot of TV.
Currently reading XML Web Development with PHP for the umpteenth time.
World War II vets, FDNY, Payne Stewart, Marvin Lewis, Billy Bates (you know, that guy who pinch hit for Reds in games 2 of the 1990 World Series and scored the winning run.) Oh yeah, and the dude that invented bottled water. What a fucking genius!
