David Banner, Snoop Dogg, Lil' Jon, and Xzibit.) Snoop Dogg, who has toured with Korn in the past, possibly had a jump start on pretending to be part of the band when compared to his rapping compatriots. But Xzibit, for one, did his part, according to Fieldy. "He's got the Dickies and the chain on, it's hilarious. Just watching Xzibit holding my bass straight up and down and jumping around, he's really into character... Battle Night(Los Angeles, CA – April 8, 2008) – Snoop Dogg announced today his partnership with famed entertainer Tommy the Clown to create an organization called the CLOUT (Changing Lives One yoUth at a Time) Foundation. The foundation will aim to provide a creative and social outlet for at-risk youth in order to help avoid the misplaced creative energy which too often results in gang violence, crime and abuse. The first initiative for CLOUT will be a monthly event called Battle Night. Battle Night, held at the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College’s Grand Theater, will be a venue hosted and emceed by Tommy the Clown, which allows young people to compete and showcase their individual talents before an audience of their peers. Youth are encouraged to express themselves through drama, dance, song, poetry or comedy. Aimed at youngsters from middle to high school from the Los Angeles area with a focus on the underserved communities, Battle Night strives to promote a positive and self-affirming lifestyle for kids and develop and showcase their artistic talents. The partnership has a personal meaning to Snoop. He says, “As a youth I had one teacher who really pushed me to be the best and gave me an outlet to really feel like I could be somebody – and I became successful partly because of his belief in me. I want to give that to the kids so they know there is more to life than the street hustle or crime. I have been friends with Tommy the Clown for years and see what he has done for so many people; this partnership is very important to me.”Tommy the Clown agrees, “I am honored to partner with Snoop and establish an opportunity for the kids in our community. When you have clout, you have strong influence. I believe the clout both Snoop and I have will help influence these kids to make some positive decisions about their future.”For more information on CLOUT please visit www.snoopdogg.com/clout/ or for more information on Battle Night please visit www.myspace.com/TommytheClown.

(Biography ( Calvin Broadus, Jr.)West Coast hip hop, G-funk,) Leading the pack of second-generation West Coast gangsta-rappers, Snoop Dogg (a protégé of genius producer/rap star Dr. Dre) has remained one of the most distinctive voices in hip-hop since his 1992 debut on the Dr. Dre song "Deep Cover" from the soundtrack of the Lawrence Fishburne film of the same name.A childhood pal of Dr. Dre's step-brother, Warren G, Snoop (born Calvin Broadus) was once a promising young ball player from Long Beach. Although gangbanging, drug dealing, and jail time soon ruined his chances at athletic scholarships, Snoop was nonetheless connected in all the right ways. He got his first break when Warren G passed his tape to Dre which lead to Snoop's distinctive nasal monotone rap being displayed on "Deep Cover" and later Dre's top-selling 1992 release, The Chronic. Snoop went on to multi-platinum success with his first solo record, Doggystyle, jet-propelled by ballsy, funk-driven singles and weirdly compelling videos. While not particularly an innovator in terms of lyrical content, Snoop made the gangsta lifestyle seem not only cool, but fun as hell. Appearing in a multitude of guises, from corn-rowed prisoner to wheelchair-bound OG, he furthermore proved himself a master of image manipulation. As with many of his rap-world contemporaries, Snoop has been, ahem, dogged with legal and financial difficulties. In 1996, he was acquitted of the 1993 murder of gang member Philip Woldermariam (alluded to in 1994's short Dre-directed film, Murder Was The Case). That same year, Snoop released his sophomore album, Tha Dogg Father that teamed him with Gap Band lead singer Charlie Wilson on the single "Snoop's Upside Your Head." The album did not yield the acclaim of Doggystyle, but Snoop kept himself in the forefront of the music scene, appearing on the soundtrack to the Martin Lawrence film, A Thin Line Between Love & Hate, and on a collaboration with Tupac Shakur, "2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted," from Shakur's post-prison, Death Row Records debut, All Eyez On Me.By 1998, while controversial Death Row Records honcho Suge Knight served a prison bid for parole violation, Snoop exited the label to join the ranks at Master P's No Limit Records. Snoop's first No Limit album, Da Game Is To Be Sold Not To Be Told proved that Snoop's usual, infectious slow drawl was a poor mesh for the thunderous, production sound of the New Orleans based No Limit. In 1999, Snoop's second No Limit album, Top Dogg re-teamed him with Dr. Dre, and scored an underground anthem with the song "B Please" featuring Xzibit that helped Xzibit achieve further notoriety. Snoop's Tha Last Meal, released in 2000, was his final record under Master P's tutelage. The album showcased Snoop's growth as an artist, finally finding his artistic comfort zone with producers other than Dr. Dre.Additionally, he released two albums with Tha Eastsidaz through a label deal with TVT Records, performed songs with everyone from Keith Sweat to Kid Rock to Tyrese, and appeared on a half a dozen soundtracks. His comical disposition, also earned him a stack of roles in movies including John Singleton's Baby Boy, Denzel Washington's Training Day, and a starring spot in the horror film Bones. In 2001, Snoop secured a second label deal. This time with MCA Records, and issued the compilation, Snoop Dogg Presents Doggy Style Allstars: Welcome To The House, Vol. 1 in 2002. Snoop broke into the adult entertainment business in 2001, recording adult videos to some of his music tracks for the DVD, Doggystyle, Vol. 1, which received two AVN Video Awards. He followed Doggystyle with his own installment of the Girls Gone Wild series dubbed Girls Gone Wild Doggy Style.Ironically just before Girls Gone Wild Doggy Style was released, the long-time marijuana advocate announced that he had stop smoking the illegal herb, and drinking as well. He said his son was a motivation, as he coached the young Broadus' football team. His most recent album, Paid Da Cost To Be Tha Boss, was released in 2002.* Born: October 20, 1972 in Long Beach, CA * Years Active: 1994-2008 * Member of: 213 * Influenced by: Ice Cube, Zapp, Too $hort, Cameo, Parliament, N.W.A, Dr. Dre, George Clinton, Slick Rick, Scarface, Rick James, Gap Band, Barry White * Followed By: Akwid, Do or Die, 2Wice, T-Bone, Top Authority, Chingy, Fatal, New Ridaz, Collie, The Total Package, Lord T & Eloise, Roscoe, Musab, Omar Cruz, Mia X, Crooked, Webbie, JoeyStarr, 40 Thevz, Da Unda Dogg, Bliss N Eso, Hot Dollar, La Fouine * Genre: Hip-Hop * Followed By: Akwid, Do or Die, 2Wice, T-Bone, Top Authority, Chingy, Fatal, New Ridaz, Collie, The Total Package, Lord T & Eloise, Roscoe, Musab, Omar Cruz, Mia X, Crooked, Webbie, JoeyStarr, 40 Thevz, Da Unda Dogg, Bliss N Eso, Hot Dollar, La Fouine * Similar Artists: Above the Law, Cypress Hill, JT the Bigga Figga, Spice 1, B-Legit, E-40, Warren G., Rappin' 4-Tay, Dru Down, 2Pac, Ant Banks, DJ Quik, WC, Mack 10, Tha Dogg Pound, Celly Cel, MC Eiht, Xzibit, Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, Outlawz, The Relativez)NEW YORK - MARCH 5: (U.S. TABS OUT) Snoop Dogg appears on stage during MTV's Total Request Live at the MTV Times Square Studios March 5, 2004 in New York City.* 1993: Doggystyle * 1996: Tha Doggfather * 1998: Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told * 1999: No Limit Top Dogg * 2000: Tha Last Meal * 2002: Paid tha Cost to Be da Boss * 2004: R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece * 2006: Tha Blue Carpet Treatment * 2008: Ego Trippin'(Films) * 1994: "Murder Was the Case" (Platin) * 1998: "Half Baked" * 1999: "Hot Boyz" * 1999: "Whiteboyz" * 1999: "Urban Menace" * 2000: "Up In Smoke Tour" * 2001: "Baby Boy" (Altın) * 2001: "Training Day" * 2001: "Bones" * 2001: "The Wash" * 2003: "Malibu's Most Wanted" * 2003: "Old School" * 2004: "Starsky & Hutch" * 2004: "Soul Plane" * 2004: "Volcano High" * 2005: "Boss'n Up" * 2005: "Racing Stripes" * 2006: "The Tenants" * 2006: "Weeds" * 2007: "Arthur and the Minimoys" * 2007: "Monk"Wednesday, October 10, 2007 Hip Hop Honors Recharge WhodiniOn Thursday night at Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan, VH1 celebrated its fourth annual Hip Hop Honors award show and concert. One of the two emcees of the group, Ecstasy, told HipHopDX, “I’m happy for ourselves, but I’m more happy for our children. "He's one of those people who truly crosses over between music and comedy."The show is among a group of new shows being produced by actors like David Alan Grier, Andy Richter and Adam Sandler. The show has yet to be titled and will likely receive one shortly. If both a cartoon and to his reality TV show Snoop Dogg's Fatherhood isn't enough, Snoop is also looking to bring some street cred to housewife favourite One Life to Live by appearing in an extended cameo on the ABC soap opera. In addition, he will perform "Sensual Seduction" (no, not “Sexual Eruption”) and "Life of Da Party" from his recent album Ego Trippin'. His affect on the daytime show won't end there as he is also remixing the theme song."My momma always had it on the tube in tha crib growing up. The opportunity to change up the theme song and give it some of my flavour will make the show the life of the party," said Snoop about the opportunity.
