The details of my life are quite inconsequential.... Very well, where do I begin?
Born in Guam – Territory of the United States. Am I Guamanian? No, I’m American/Filipino. I’m considered a coconut (brown on the outside, white on the inside). Meaning – I’m dark skinned Filipino that can’t speak the language, although, I am making an effort to learn. I pretty much spent the first 18 years of my life in Moreno Valley, CA. I didn’t realize how secluded “MoVal†was from the rest of the world until I left. And now that my parents built their retirement home in the Philippines, I have no reason to return or visit “MoValâ€. I spent 4 years in the US Army (2 yrs in Germany / 2 yrs Upstate New York). I had a blast all over Europe while I was there (no need for details). After the Army I went to college - at the same time I was in the Army National Guard (different from active duty Army) and worked full time at various jobs. After college graduation I worked a year at PanAmSat (satellite company – now known as Intelsat), I might still be working there if they didn’t decide to move to Georgia. I now work at TelePacific, for over 7 years now (I know, I can’t believe it either). I met the girl of my dreams in 2000, married her in 2003…going strong in 2007. I ended my duty in the Army National Guard after 7 years of service (11 years including active duty). And I was fortunate enough to have never been deployed to a war zone. Not many soldiers can say that.
I like staying active. I snowboard, mountain bike, I get my spurts of being a gym rat. I like to hit golf balls every now and then. I run the occasional “Mud Run†at Camp Pendelton. Right now, my “thing†is playing basketball. I feel my age, but still act like I’m 18. Is that pitiful? I don’t think so.
I don't like to watch television much, but get hooked on shows like Heros. I like to think I have a creative side. My wife thinks I'm a great handyman. I love working on our house. I rather try to do it myself before I pay someone else to do it.
If you got this far... I'm surprised you didn't fall out of your seat from boredom.
