It's Beelzebozo time!

About Me

Dude - check it out. On my top friends list, it totally looks like Patton Oswalt and Rick Wright are throwing down.
Bands bands bands! Send me requests here. Not a band? Please visit www.myspace.com/beelzebozo2. Thanks! My livejournal: http://www.livejournal.com/users/opiate1138/I currently play bass for an as yet untitled band, looking for a singer, and I also play in KSP - an instrumental trio.

My Interests

Tattoos, piercings, comic books, the esoteric, good movies, good tunes, doing tarot readings, Trivial Pursuit, making up recipes, Photoshop, fingernail polish, karaoke, The Peanuts, making jewelry. And I am absolutely obsessed with what most people would call "circus freaks." Maybe I was in a sideshow in a past life. I'm learning to play D&D. Wanna make somethin' of it?

I'd like to meet:

New bands to discover, gig-sharers, old friends, cool venues.

Music:

Tool. There is not much to say after that. Music is my passion. It would be easier to tell you what I don't like, but that wouldn't be very much fun. Classical - I like Berlioz, Chopin, Shostokovich, Rachmaninoff, Von Weber, Ives, Vaughn Williams. More modern stuff -Rage, NIN, Manson, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Velvet Underground, Mazzy Star, Floyd, Lusk, Jellyfish, Jill Sobule, Poe, Muse, The Mars Volta, Yes, Failure, The Melvins, Tori Amos, System of a Down, Ra, Massive Attack, UNKLE, Snake River Conspiracy, Tomahawk, Loveage, James, Old school Metallica, Juno Reactor, Hanzyl und Gretyl, Dr. Dre, NERD, A Perfect Circle, Aphex Twin ("Come to Daddy" is the greatest video ever made), Alice in Chains, William Orbit, Chromakey, The Smashing Pumpkins, Elvis, L7, Luscious Jackson, Daft Punk, Len, Portishead, Morphine, Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Faith No More and Mr Bungle, Concrete Blonde, Anthrax, Tom Waits, The Donnas, Stormtroopers of Death, The Talking Heads, Team Sleep, The Music, Queensryche, Dream Theater, Prince, Spock's Beard, Primus, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Wumpscut, Electric Hellfire Club. Mike Patton is a God, Bjork is a Goddess. I like old Psychadelic Pop (and believe it is still best to listen to it on vinyl. Why the hell does myspace keep erasing my shit?

Movies:

My top five, as of this very moment, are True Romance, Goodfellas, Metropolis, The Color Purple - OK, I change that to four; I can't pick just one more. Gangsters, monsters, lovers and heroes, I love them all. I dig Kevin Smith, Terry Gilliam, The Coen Brothers (Big Lebowski!!!), Darren Aaronovski, David Fincher, Jean Pierre Jeunet, Robert Altman, Alex Proyas, Tony Scott, John Woo (especially Bullet in the Head), Tim Burton, Tarantino, Guillermo del Toro, Robert Rodriguez, Sam Raimi and Martin Scorcese; guilty pleasures are The Lost Boys, Jim Carrey and all the Brat Pack movies (but I STILL haven't seen St Elmo's Fire). Anything by Wim Wenders - especially Wings of Desire and Until the End of the World. I want John Cusack to be my boyfriend and Gary Oldman to be my secret lover. Oh! I just thought of number five - The Excorcist. Scares the bejeezus outta me. In a tie with "Harold and Maude."
You are Ash, from the "Evil Dead"
trilogy. My hero.

Television:

Um, I like Scrubs, My Name is Earl, The Office, Smallville. And The Jack Bauer Hour of Power. And Adult Swim.

Books:

So, I'm about to have a conniption fit because fucking myspace keeps erasing all my info in this field. Maybe it's because ol' Rupert doesn't want us to read . . . Anyway. Geek Love is my favorite book. Katherine Dunn. I love Tom Robbins, Kurt Vonnegut, Margaret Atwood - The Handmaid's Tale is one of my favorites. I like anything of a dystopian or post apocalyptic nature. Preacher is my favorite comic, and I also love all of Evan Dorkin's stuff, and Spawn was cool before that whole lame ass "new costume" gimmick.

Heroes:

John Myung, Mark Sandman, Les Claypool, MaynardDannyAdamJustin, Tori Amos, Bill Hicks, Martin Scorcese, Rest in excess - Mr. Thompson, my Ryan, and Anne Spillman - the coolest woman that has ever walked the earth.

My Blog

I stole a survey from my friend Brian.

Do you ever wish you were a different race, and if so, what?:  Um, race?  Meh.  Another culture, YES.   Would you date someone of another race?: Well, in the past I would...

Dream Theater in Toronto! Hell yeah! (Set list spoilers)

My Dream Theater cherry has been broken. And it was broken in top form. You can read all about the show, at least as much as I have the energy to type right now, March 22, 2006. Massey Hall, Toronto. ...

Why don't you ever whip me?

At long last, after months of patient waiting and hoping and wanting, we have a guitar player.  He is talented, and he is cool.  This doth rocketh out verily unto me.  Two days to Drea...

Awesome Ryanisms

I shall henceforth be keeping a list of all the awesome random things that Ryan says, because it makes me laugh and keeps me happy. 1.  "There are a lot of things I wish I had done.  For ins...

Dude, there were midgets everywhere.

Do you know what today is?  Apparently it's "Pull Right the Fuck Out in Front of Kathleen" Day.  My calendar is not notated, so I was not aware.  But since I had to slam on my brakes no...

I now have concrete evidence that Skittles are not food.

There has been a purple Skittle on the floor outside my apartment door for the last couple weeks.  No - I haven't picked it up.  Haven't felt like it.  Anyway - I was wondering how long...

Why live TV rocks my world.

I sat here this morning and watched most of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  You are probably wondering why . . . I hate showtunes, I abhor lipsynching, not a fan of the teenybopper rock (oh,...

Dude, that movie was so bad I didn't even get a boner. . .

Ahem. After having watched the first 13 minutes of "Showgirls," I have deduced that it might just be the single worst travesty to ever be commited to celluloid.  Wow.

Probably too depressing for you to want to read . . .

Today is the day.  Seven years ago.  I am having this internal debate - I feel like I should drive to the cemetery in South Vienna, but at the same time I know I can mourn so much better jus...
