About Me

Get Your Own! | View Slideshow
Live, Love, and Laugh is a personal motto of mine. Life is short, and I strive to make the best of it. I am a very down-to-earth individual; peaceful but also energetic. I love staying up late, whether it's for a talk (I love to discuss anything), a night on the town, or just to read a good book. I can be adventurous, whether it's trying out a new recipe in the kitchen, venturing outside my apartment, or traveling somewhere new.

I was recently selected as a 2006 HOT 100 women winner! The women selected for this honor were chosen nationally, and are women who are smart and work for change on economic, political, and academic matters. In addition, I was nominated by the Honorable Edward G. Rendell, Governor of Pennsylvania to participate in the American Council of Young Political Leaders international political exchange program, and in March 2005, I was selected to be Woman of the Month for the Women Under 40 Political Action Committee, located in Washington, DC. My area of expertise surrounds government-funded social programs with recommendation strategies to make them more efficient and effective.
I am currently completing my first book, entitled: The Politics of American Poverty. My professional experiences include working at the Democratic Leadership Council, and in a leadership role at the Democratic National Committee in Washington, D.C. While in D.C., I served as a volunteer teacher at the Academy of Hope, where I volunteered my time teaching reading and writing to adults aged 18-60 who wanted to obtain their GED. In addition, I worked at DC Vote, which is a political advocacy organization working to bring Congressional Voting Rights to the residents of DC.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Strayer University, Washington DC, and an M.B.A. with a Marketing Concentration. I am currently pursing a PHD in Public Administration.
I was recently accepted into the 2007 Pennsylvania Center for Progressive Leadership (CPL) Fellowship Program. CPL dedicates itself to developing the next Generation of Progressive Leaders. In her spare time I write on issues affecting all Americans.

I was named a 2006 REAL hot 100 Woman winner! The REAL hot 100 is a national search who's main goal is to show that young women are "hot" for reasons beyond their ability to look cute in a magazine. REALLY hot women are smart. REALLY hot women work for change. REALLY hot women aren€™t afraid to speak their minds. And while some REALLY hot women might look awesome in a bikini, they know that€™s not all they have to offer. The REAL hot 100 is a list featuring young women from around the country who are breaking barriers, fighting stereotypes, and making a difference in their communities or the nation. Looking to the media for positive images of young women is no easy task. We are here to celebrate these women and their accomplishments. Meet the REAL hot 100 women of 2006 and see how hot SMART can be: You can see the booklet by clicking:
