SCUBA, music, a nice cold beer, time spent with friends, bar games, poker, most anything in/on/under the water, many things outdoors that are not in the water, my family, Dark and Stormys at the Schooner Wharf, Root Beer Barrels at the Green Parrot, the joy of discovering the wonders of this life with people who rock my socks off
Those that I've lost touch with over the years and those who I would love to get to know well enough to regret ever losing touch with in the future.
I know it's a cliche, but I enjoy listening to most anything save death metal and muzak. A sample of a recent shuffle of music on the computer: A Tribe Called Quest, Frank Sinatra, Sister Hazel, George Strait, Cat Empire, Beautiful South, Outkast, Ludwig von Beethoven, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulai (Master Drummers of Dagbon, Northern Ghana), Alison Krauss & Union Station, Barenaked Ladies, Rent, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Widespread Panic, Eliot Smith, Steve Martin, Tenacious D, Jack Johnson, Miles Davis, Avril Lavigne (don't know where that came from, but the situation has been rectified), Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgerald, Flaming Lips, Gnarls Barkley, John Coltrane, Green Lemon, Keb Mo, Ben Folds, Elvis Costello, Garth Brooks, Jimmy Buffet (had to have some of that living down here, thanks Michael), Ron Sexsmith, 3 Tenors, Vince Guaraldi Trio, and Michael McCloud. Some of these I added into the shuffle because I have listened to them too much recently to leave them off the list, but mostly good music in my opinion. Much of this music (and most of my entire collection come to think of it) has come as a result of the influence of people like you. Keep the suggestions and recommendations coming. I love good music of all kinds.
Almost as varied as the music. Not gonna go there again. That took way too long.
As there is no basic TV reception down here and I don't watch enough TV to justify paying for a bunch of channels, most of my TV watching happens 6 months after the fact on DVD. (Gotta love new staff every 4 months with new DVD collections)
In the last year, I've read a few books each by Christopher Moore, Orson Scott Card, and Douglas Adams. Also read parts of The Reef Collection by Humann and DeLoach and How to Cook and Clean your Catch by Vic Dunaway.
Mom and Dad. Another cliche, but it's a cliche for a reason. My family rocks.
