The Sword that Gives Life

About Me

Get Your Own! | View SlideshowWell then, let's see what makes this one special....My name is Jose, and live in Bear, DE (sounds exhilirating, doesn't it?). I enjoy good food and beer (esp. Guinness & Smithwick's), Japanese culture, anime and manga, traditional Budo/Bujutsu martial arts, and the company of friends. I'm a laid-back, low-maintenance guy, with a spiritually practical approach to daily living. Unconventional wisdom and ways of doing things are up my alley, as blazing new trails is more adventurous than trodding secure, predictable routes. I love walking the ancient paths, with an ever-increasing desire for the new things. My heart burns for an emerging generation, ablaze with the fire of God, with a passion for Jesus Christ, compassion for lost and hurting humanity, proclaiming and demonstrating the Kingdom "on earth as it is in heaven."Take the quiz:
What Martial Art Are You?

Ninjutsu
You are ninjutsu, you clever fox! You rely on a variety of different principles and techniques to get through the day. You are clever, versatile and often totally unexpected! Ninjutsu covers a great deal of ground, as you know how to handle weapons, avoidance, hand to hand techniques and sometimes espionage. Few know anything about you, and you use that to your advantage as you hide, dodge or trip your way into victory. Ninjutsu is spiritually concerned with endurance, both of the body and the heart.

My Interests

..Japanese culture, traditional Japanese Budo (Ninpo and Jujutsu), anime/manga, cosplay, reading, music (mostly listening, some guitar playing & sporadic songwriting), movies, food (Japanese, Chinese, BBQ), good beer, hangin' out with friends, travel, computers & surfin' the Net, spiritual development and experiences.

I'd like to meet:

People with a passionate desire for experiencing the raw and extreme presence and power of God; spiritual seekers; fellow practitioners of Ninpo/Ninjutsu/Budo Taijutsu and other Japanese Budo/Bujutsu; anime/manga fans and enthusiasts; lovers of Japanese culture; decent, honest, and good-hearted individuals; perhaps even my future wifey??? (~_^) (Hey, anything's possible!)

Music:

Brian & Jenn Johnson, Passion Worship Band, Jason Upton, Rita Springer, David Ruis, P.O.D., Lifehouse, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Utada Hikaru, T.M. Revolution, L'Arc En Ciel, Yoshida Brothers, instrumental, Irish pub & rebel songs, etc.

Television:

Hardly any time for TV (working night-shift will do that). Honestly, I watch more stuff via the Web than on the tube. I enjoy anime fansubs, online TV show episodes, and other stuff. Some fave shows are "Human Weapon", "Fight Quest", "Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations", "The Ultimate Fighter", "Pimp My Ride", etc.

Heroes:

John G. Lake, Randy Clark, Todd Bentley, Heidi Baker, Bill Johnson, and Graham Cooke are among my inspirations. Most importantly though, I want to live my life in imitation of the Lord Jesus Christ, doing that which I see and hear the Father saying and doing. As well, my heroes in the Ninpo traditions: Toshitsugu Takamatsu Sensei, and Soke Shoto Tanemura (Genbukan Ninpo Bugei/Kokusai Jujutsu Renmei/Amatsu Tatara Bumon Shumon):
