i used to play a lot of lego, slide down hills in winter on my crazy carpet, practice piano, go to grand beach and build sandcastles, skateboard, draw and paint, jam with my bestest buddies in parks, barns and garages, make forts (those built of snow as well as those made of blankets, pillows and chairs, AND those of wood), go to church and sunday school, play video games on my commodore 64, smoke dope and run around like a mad fool (often this would occur at Winnipeg Folk Fest), have big birthday parties (ages 1 thru 10) where mom would bake a cake shaped like a rocket or hockey player and then lay out some carrots and celery with dip, mow lawns to make money, worked at Mcdonalds and A&W (in the kitchens), wrestle with my dad, hug my mom, watched saturday morning cartoons religiously, played hockey, played hours of tennis during the summer, drank at Falcon Lake and ran around like a mad fool, threw snowballs at buses and station wagons, smoked cigs at thought i was cool, etc. that was me years and years ago... and it turned me into the lad i am today. some of those things i still do ... some i've left behind with fond thoughts. i'll still spend hours on a sandcastle if i'm lucky enough to be on a beach.
