primus has the best approach, james ulmer made some of the free-est music, tortoise has made excellent grooves, don caballero is most raw and percussive and rhythmic, pixies have the rage, frank black is rock, neil young has the best guitar progressions, thelonious monk mixes simplicity, rhythm and melody into one, miles davis can jam, coltrane is independent and ethereal, mbira music from zimbabwe is perfect if u want a change, bartok is my favorite classical composer, smetana can create images, chopin is good, beethoven's moonlight sonata, mozart, brahms.
