Get this video and more at MySpace.com Gruvphunkshun was formed in early 2001 by Jason Stander and Michael Phillips.We put out our first album Chickenwings in 2001. While doing this I hosted an open jam night at Brooklyn's in Ybor. After that I hosted them at the Orpheum. I had a chance to play with Joel Lisi(Beanstalk) Matt White-trumpet, David Hope, and many others. I've sat in with the famous Robert Lockwood Jr. and sat in at an open jam in Hawii w/Peter Frampton. I definately have an emphasis on improvisation but do enjoy well composed stuff. In town I've played with Damon Fowler www.damonfowler.com , Ed Wright www.eddiewright.com , Tommy Bell www.tommybell.org ,Willie Lomax, Shawn Brown, Wiilie Steel, Dash Riprock, Andrew Gohman(smoking guitar), and many many others...................................................... .................................................I know we all miss the Groove Community open jams and am working on getting a new place for us to all get down. I miss playing in the "open" style and am looking forward to getting it all together again.
