I have two dogs now! They're awesome and totally crazy. They are wearing sweaters with jackets right now because it's freaking COLD!!! They haven't met a person that can resist their crazy paw dances.
He really loves the mountains and forests. I don't think I've ever seen him more excited about being outside before.
Here he is 8,000 feet up on the Beartooth Highway and 2,000 more to go.
I enjoy the typical things such as movies, music, art, food, midcentury modern design, Art Deco, Art Nouveau (love me some Aubrey Beardsley but who doesn't?!), and the Bauhaus movement. I've rediscovered the joy of hiking in National Forests and stealing neat rocks from them when nobody is looking. I know it's wrong but the rocks, they are so pretty. How do they expect me to just leave them alone when they are all prettied up and just asking to be stolen? This region is so amazingly beautiful. So many adjectives and thoughts of admiration come to mind. But no words and not even pictures capture the full experience of these mountains. "Mountain Fresh Scent" dryer sheets smell like dog deoderizer compared to the fragrance of these mountain forests.
People I already know.
Sometimes I dream the moon is too close to earth.
HOT CHIP, LO-FI FINK, M.I.A. Mirah, Cat Power, George Michael, Sebadoh, Laura Viers, Fiona Apple The song from Home Movies about marbles won't leave my head. There's a mind and marbles pun waiting in there but who cares.
I like horror, comedy, and just plain trashy/ B rated, garbage movies. Lately it's been a lot of 'B' Italian zombie movies or movies from the 70's & 80's. Such as Welcome To Spring Break! or Zombie 2,3,4. Last week I re-watched Return of the Living Dead 2. I had forgotten just how retarded this movie is. Yet it's still a better execution of a zombie flick when compared to such terrible works likes Stink of the Flesh or Zombie Night BUT not by much. I do have to say that Zombie Night can be quite unintentionally hillarious due to terrible acting and rediculous editing that left me thinking 'wtf time is it supposed to be?!' As of now, I haven't watched a movie in quite a few weeks.
Twin Peaks, Arrested Development, ATHF, Seinfeld, Six Feet Under, SGC2C, My So Called Life, Beverly Hills 90210, Lost, X-Files, Home Movies, Intervention (my dose of reality sin tv), The Office(UK), Absolutely Fabulous, Moonlighting, Night Court, Daily Show, Steven Colbert Report, Stella, 24 (it's so damn dumb!), Curb Your Enthusiasm, ALL OF THE WEATHER CHANNEL (are they ever going to release a dvd?!!), Reel Wild Cinema(PLEASE RELEASE A DVD FOR LOVE OF SOMETHING ALREADY!!!), Night Flight, Nova, Nature, Frontline, Mythbusters, Millennium.... I never thought I would watch Buffy or Angel but now I have. The first season of Buffy was completely painful and I could do without it. But for the most part, the following seasons are creative and funny. Some of the content seemed rather R rated and I'm suprised it even made it on television. My favorite episode is with the spell that makes adults act like teenagers. I do prefer Angel over Buffy because of the darker humor and plots. Only 3 more episodes until the series finale!
I'm going back the age of 14 and picking up some Phillip K. Dick books while I'm there. I read some of "Roadside Geology of Montana" on Sunday. In my fantasy world, I would volunteer with the Paleontology Dept. of MSU and tag along on some of their Montana fossil digs. *sigh*
