About Me

I'm a wannabe academic - I love dusty old books and sitting alone in libraries, oh yeah. I live in Kensal Green, where I spend my time playing chess, playing the guitar very badly, and wandering around the cemetery leaping out at people from behind gravestones.

My Interests

Music, History, Chess

I'd like to meet:

Someone important in the States of Jersey Higher Education department, who will promise to fund my PhD. Or anyone else who thinks the world is lacking 80 000 words on the medieval warrior saint and is prepared to put their money where their mouth is. C'mon guys!

Music:

Prog wierdness, late 70s/early 80s punk/new wave/electronic stuff, bit of folk, arty glam rock, shouty loud things so long as they're very good, anything highly camp and ridiculous. Right now I can't get enough of Scott Walker, yes, even the recent stuff with the meat percussion and the donkey noises. Likes include: Beefheart, Zappa, Jethro Tull, Yes, Davids Bowie, Sylvian and Byrne, Talking Heads, Kate Bush, Japan, Stranglers, Ian Dury, Associates, King Crimson, Klaus Nomi, Bert Jansch, Donovan, Ivor Cutler, Julian Cope + The Teardrop Explodes, Sparks, PIL, Killing Joke, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Human League (1st 2 albums), Neil Young, Peter Gabriel (and why not?), REM, Brian Eno, Soft Cell, Specials, Roxy Music, Kinks, Super Furry Animals, Love, Prince, Nick Cave, Giant Sand, Bauhaus, Led Zeppelin, You and the Atom Bomb, Seeing Scarlet, And the Adventures Of..., Thomas Dolby, Robert Wyatt, Gong, Pixies, Frank Black, Syd Barrett

Just saw Blow-up, that's great. I like films where people look pretty and nothing really happens. Or does it?
