About Me

Good day to you, kind reader. Do you yearn for the times when music was about liberation of the human spirit, when songs were a journey that didn't end with you buying a pair of stovepipe jeans? Music can't necessarily bring down corrupt economic or political systems, but in the right format it can speak to people and give them a chance to think about things for themselves. Yes indeed - we love the 1970s.Calvara is a new Brisbane 5-piece that formed late in 2007, driven by songwriter Joel Edmondson's journeys into the hidden realms of the heart, the sometimes unknown dimensions that simultaneously live above and within us all. Like most human beings, we're still in a process of discovering who we are, and it's that journey of discovery that we want to take you on. We achieve this through the delivery of timeless songs that remind us that it's good 'n' natural to reflect on the struggle of being alive in the world, to imagine something better for ourselves and others. Didn't you want to see beyond?
