I live in Dubai - which is in the UAE - which borders with Saudi Arabia, Oman and the Persian Gulf - which is in the Middle East. No I don't work for the Government or in oil. Yes, it is ridiculously hot during the summer. I started and run a website here called dubizzle.com - and while it is probably useless to you unless you are planning on moving to Dubai or one of the other cities to which we're expanding, you should still visit the site and click on ads for as long and as often as possible.
The city has both its good and its bad. The good is that it's the fastest growing city in the world (which means it resembles a movie-set-slash-construction-site), the population is 80% expatriates from all over the world, and I live within walking distance of the perpetually warm beach. The bad is that it lacks even the slightest bit of culture, all blue & white collar workers are shipped from India or the Phillipines and can only afford to live in labor camps, I pay way too much for rent and the obvious fact that I live in the Middle East.
