About Me

Bryant Welch here. You might call me Welcher, Chief, Cheese, B Dubb, Vealch, 'cher, or Jerome, but you can give me a new nickname if you'd like. I have an NPR mind in a Fox News world. I have long eyelashes, big feet, double-jointed thumbs and I've never broken a bone beyond some elbow and tooth chips. I'm always on a quest for fun with a good soundtrack, so catch me if you can.I'm a first-gen Vermonter, which means I'm only 5 generations away from being a true Vermonter. Sounds like a challenge to me.18 years in Burlington, 6 in DC, 1 more in Burlington, working on my 3rd here in Beantown, although I hardly stay put for long. If all goes according to plan, I should be graduating with my J.D. this May.
Not sure if this is a good idea or not yet, but feel free to browse my Photobucket albums .

My Interests

All things Vermont (especially maple syrup), being outside (especially in VT), playing guitar (especially electric), watching sports (especially in person), playing sports (especially ice hockey), sushi (especially spicy hamachi), extra hoppy beer (especially Magic Hat HiPA and Tupper's Hop Pocket), fine single malt scotches (especially Talisker), using parentheses (especially here).

I'd like to meet:

Crazy people, brilliant people, normal people, hillarious people, whacky people, kind people, gross people, generous people, serious people, goofy people, etc. Oh, and anyone not allergic to awesomeness.

Music:

Anything with a high degree of deliciousness, but particularly: Krush Groove, Flevans, the New Deal, Vorcza Trio, Highwaymen, Thievery Corporation, moe., The Gladiators, Topaz, Jimmy Smith, Disco Biscuits, Pink Floyd, Blackalicious, Israel Vibration, Burning Spear, Multiball, Herbie Hancock, Dave Brubeck, JGB, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, GD, The Slip, Lotus, Umphrey's McGee, and oh yeah, I followed a band called PHiSH for a while.

Movies:

"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley!"

"Nihilists... fuck me. I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism... at least it's an ethos..."

Television:

HBO, sports, the weather, stuff to make me laugh hard. C'est tout.

Books:

Textbooks with rhetorical questions.

Heroes:

Lionel Hutz, Brock Samson, Patrick Leahy, Bernie Sanders, Howard Dean, Winston Rodney, Borat Sagdiyev, Tiki Barber
Oh yeah, and of course,
..

A Visual Tribute to My Passed-Out Self

Everyone seems to love my spots, positions, expressions and vulnerability when I "pass out."  But there's nothing wrong with getting a little shut-eye when the evening gets late, even if everyone...
