I am Lucas Serrao Lopes from East Timor studying in International Relations at University of Hawaii at Manoa. I was born in a small village located far away from the city. East Timor is an island as same as Hawaii that it just got back its soverignty in 2002. I had figured out that the only way to have power is making more new firends around this globe and also education.I got sponsor from the State Department of US to study in Hawaii. I am elected as the president of an International Student Organization at East West Center at University of Hawaii at Manoa. I worked with the United Nations for two years and appointed me as a government official for two years in the local government. Furthermore, i was one of the lcoal leaders who signed the statement of the handing over power from the United Nations to the East Timor's government.
