About Me

I'm just a simple gal from a small town. I live a pretty simple life. I'm involved in the local community theatre group, I sing with an Elvis tribute band, The E'ssentials; and another folk/pop/soft rock band called Tanglewood. I'm on the local Friends of the Library Board and I volunteer at the library. I've also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and other groups. I work for myself cleaning houses, house/dog/horse sitting and doing general freelance stuff like helping my lighting and sound guru friend with tech set-up at gigs.

My Interests

Gardening, crafts (mostly knitting and origami), cooking, Tai chi, theatre, singing and music, reading, suduko, walking and being outdoors, wildlife, astronomy. Family and friends, MY DOG!!!!!!!

The Dalai Lama, Galileo, Friedrich Nietzsche, Leonardo da Vinci,Stephen Hawking.

Music:

James Taylor, Cheryl Wheeler, Alison Krauss, Mary Chapin Carpenter, k. d. lang, Beatles, The Eagles, Elton John, John Denver, Broadway musicals (faves: Wicked, Les Miz, Cats, JC Superstar) . I have eclectic and varied taste and am always on the look out for a new sound.

Movies:

Too many to name. All-time fave is "Gone With the Wind".

Television:

Whose Line is it Anyway?, American Idol, Sex and the City, Ghost Hunters, Myth Busters, Work Out, Deadliest Catch, 30 Minute Meals. Atlanta Braves baseball.

Books:

Again, almost too many to name - I'm a voracious reader. Poetry, especially Billy Collins, Sylvia Plath. Classics, especially To "Kill a Mockingbird" and anything Jane Austen or Pearl S. Buck. Current faves are Amy Tan, J.K. Rowling, Charles Fraiser, Billie Letts, Alice Sebold, Traci Chevalier, Stephen King's early stuff.

Heroes:

Never met one that I know of.
