In awe of Nature (what's left of it) and watching the seasons. Great music (many kinds)...the 'voice' of the universe? Simple things and pleasures...planting trees and gardens, building ponds and waterfalls, mowing green fields, watching and listening to the leaves in the trees, enjoying nature's canvas in all aspects. Home - almost
a forgotten treasure for too many. Classic films, classic cars,Harleys, steam locomotives. Organic vegan...that should tell the story. Until humans stop killing and eating animal flesh, this species isn't going anywhere. Staying well-informed and practicing truthful, provocative and worthy journalism.
I'd Like To Meet -
Tesla (to ask him many, many things), DaVinci (the same), Nostradamus (to convince him to stop talking in riddles and tell it straight), Sibelius (to get him to sober up and continue composing as in his Second and Fifth symphonies), Mahler (to get him to admit he stole Hans Rott's genius and ran with it...and to stay within the paradigm of his first five symphonies), Wagner (to just shake the man's hand in wonderment), Mario (to get him to realize he had a moral and spiritual responsibility to take better care of himself, drop the ego and make The Student Prince, and continue teaching the world to sing for another 30 years), Cream (in 1968...to tell them much the same) Some people have such stupendous gifts and talent that they owe it to the universe to do whatever it takes to bury their demons and continue creating magic for the good of the planet. , W.C. Fields (to thank him a hundred times and to tell Universal to wake up and keep making his films), Stan and Ollie (to thank them a thousand times...), and Jack Benny (39 forever), and Bela, Larry, Moe and Curly. There are many others, but you get the idea...
Movies -
No dreary human angst or self-indulgent
celebrations of the decay of our society, or teenage
imbecility saturated in drugs and sex, thank you. Quality fantasies,
some good sci-fi, astute political drama, action films with
wit and humor, real comedy (VERY hard to find now) and
competent escapist fare. No melodramatic, pin-headed sex and
self-indulgent 'drama' constantly repainted and forced
into the minds of a dumbed down theater flock.
Audience reactions...like laughing on cue when the
script tells them to...are some of the most frightful
aspects of the contemporary movie theater experience.
Cloverfield was quite a fun ride. The Illusionist
showed that good films and filmmaking are still alive.
Depp is America's best actor, of course.
