Liars. Clutter. Dryer sheets on the laundry room floor. Random unexplained encounters. Summer. Dog hair on my DJ equipment or pants. Foul smells I can not locate. Bigots. Water spots on my faucets. Old gum stuck in carpet. One night stands. Improper grammar. Sand on my thighs. Two-faced people. Selfishness. Misspelled words. People who don't keep in touch. Tedious tasks. When people sing along in the car to songs they TOTALLY don't know. When someone walks in the bathroom when I'm pooping. Sitting still. Unreliable people. Drive thrus-the entire experience. MySpace. Retagging tracks. An empty inbox. Internet connections slower than my mind. My grandmother. Scales. When people say "I'm bored". Public pools. Too much snow to drive in. Forgetting to add the attachment before hitting send. Inconsistencies. When people leave out parts of a story.
But I like some things:
My family. Adrienne, my only friend irl. Being liked-but not too much. Spring & Fall. Communication. 68 degree weather. Traveling. Getting new (interesting) e-mails. Details. Making a difference. Balancing my checkbook (when it balances). Singing well. Building someone's confidence. German Reisling. A good dance set and packed floor. Smiles. Hotel rooms with fluffy pillows and a view. Approval. Giving advice when asked. Smoky jazz. Meeting (interesting) new people. Appreciation. Lists-making them & fulfilling them. Being listened to. When my son still asks to cuddle at bed time. Being busy. Getting a reaction. How Splenda coats the surface of raisins in cereal. EARNING money. Being shocked or impressed by someone. Empty houses.
