El proyecto La Kozmic Band (Janis Joplin Tribute) se empieza a gestar a finales de 2005. Violant Guañabens, Manel Ramis, Jordi "Baka" Fernandez y Txema Zapata, cuatro musicos de la escena Blues Rock barcelonesa, movidos por su admiración a Janis Joplin, deciden hacer un homenaje a una de las artistas mas transgresoras del siglo xx, no solo por ser la primera mujer de la historia del rock, también por ser la primera y seguramente la mas grande cantante blanca de la historia del blues.
LA KOZMIC BAND hace una revision de los temas mas emblematicos de Janis Joplin y rinde un tributo a este icono de los sesenta, a su musica, a su tiempo y a aquella manera de entender la vida.

La Kozmic Band (Janis Joplin Tribute) formed at the end of 2005. Inspired by their admiration for Janis Joplin, Violant Guañabens, Manel Ramis, Jordi "Baka" Fernandez y Txema Zapata, four musicans from Barcelona's blues rock scene decided to pay hommage to are of the most influential artist of the 20th century, not only for being the first woman in the history of rock but for being the greatest white woman singer in the history of the blues.
LA KOZMIC BAND goes over Janis Joplin's most emblematic songs and renders tribute to this icon of the sixties, her music, her time, and to a way of understanding life.
