Currently: Under the Banner of Heaven, and an assortment of eye-candy coffee table art books. Astro by Nils Hamm, Post Secret, Found, Road Food by Jane and Michael Stern. Happy Kitty Bunny Pony, Stiff, Choke, Lonesome Dove, This Boy's Life, Rural Studio, The Catcher in the Rye, Nickel and Dimed, The Outsiders, The Red Pony, East of Eden, Lord of the FLIES (no rings for me please.) Ragtime, Of Mice and Men, To Kill a Mockingbird, anything that romaticizes the American working class experience between 1850 and 1980. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs cultivated my love affair with food and weather. Also, my old sketchbooks and other people's diaries. And, anything by Lynda Barry or either Sedaris. I love a book with lavish illustrations and graphic novels like Brooklyn Dreams and Optic Nerve.
