About Me

I love music. I DJ with passion. I've been doing this off and on for 20 years, but I haven't really owned it until now. I have a residence at the Stone Rose Lounge/Sofitel in LA on Friday and Saturday, I rock it well. History proves that the club "Funky Reggae" was the first Hip-Hop/Old School Funk and Reggae spot in Los Angeles. It was run by myself and Sean McPherson. I handled the music, he handled the business. And we...Rocked it well!! After Funky Reggae, I spent a good decade or so as a record executive at Island, Capitol and Motown Records (briefly)...but the higher I moved up the chain the further I was distanced from the Music. Five years ago I started spinning again and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. I've been welcomed back into the fold by the kids who were too young to get into Funky Reggae at the time. I guess I got old school props! My most recent favorite gigs were Michael Jordan's Celebrity Golf Tournament in the Bahamas, George Clooney's Holiday House Party. Old School Lou Gossett's 70th Birthday...(it got real funky in there...) And any daytime gig that my kids can come to. Creative juices are flowing again...Who wants some? So...I've Been around...Seen a lot. I deal from the soul, so there's a lot of bullshit I'm just happy to miss. Got two really fly kids.Love Music, Live Music, Dj Music, Write and Produce Music... My Grandfather, the first Black writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer. He got vexed at the unfair policies that applied to him only and wrote a 2 paragraph piece praising Stalin. You couldn't do that in the 50's...He did. Rudeboy from back in the day...
