Lead Guitarist for Contraband

About Me

It's all about the music! I've been playing for a long time and in ContraBand you will hear me span styles from rock to jazz to fusion and more! Come out to see us play and be sure to introduce yourself!
***NEW*** A Fusion collaboration project co-written by Bernardo Pires, Brazil: Fusion Demo
Yet another jam! Josie: Josie Jam
Here are some other example clips of my playing:
1. A blues solo over a Jeff Beck type of track
2. A fusion solo over an Allan Holdsworth track
3. A Jazz/Rock solo over a Steely Dan inspired track from Sweeden
4. Moonbeach - slide show of Big Sur with my solo work in accompanyment
The clips above are examples of how musicians can track with others by exchanging mp3s in various states of completion. On all the "backing tracks" I supplied the solo. On the last two I also recorded some rhythm work. More of this to come!

Music:

Mostly, I enjoy performing music. There is a connection of energy with the audience that can not be described in words, only felt. Genres are pretty much open to whatever sounds good. I'm not one to be too concerned with labels. If the artist is passionate about what they are doing I usually like what I hear.

Heroes:

First and foremost, my father. He has always been a constant inspiration in my life.
Everyone who dedicates their life's work to their passion, whether it be music, art, dance, science, teaching, acting, trades, or service to their community or country. Those are the real heroes in life.
