Kelly Was born to John and Anita Rivera of February 17, 1976 in Philadelphia PA. Both parents were musically and culturally inclined so that had a major impact on Kelly. At the tender age of 9 Kelly discovered hip-hop. At that point there was no turning back. She was inspired at that time by MC's such as Doug E Fresh, MC Lyte, Eric B and Rakim, and Public Enemy. At that point Kelly began rhyming with a friend in various talent shows that she won. As she got older she turned to song writing and poetry working with local artists and producers writing songs and hooks. Her current influences include Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Floetry, Mos Def, Common, Little Brother, Dwele, Anthony Hamilton, and the list is endless. Kelly relocated to South Carolina where she met Parallel Worlds Promoter Pur, who after hearing her work, advised her to audition, and after making the cut Kelly has been putting on live spoken word events locally in Columbia and surrounding area's and states.
