Fuck the dumb shit....

About Me

One of my favorite quotes is "You can't get what you want if you don't know what you want"... I never got it from anyone... I like to think I made it up myself, but I probably didn't, lol....
I'm originally from Massachusetts, but I'm in Delaware now. It's alright down here, not too far away so I can travel no problem. I just got out of the Air Force this year...figured I didn't want to stay in after graduating from college. I was looking to get into a Master's program in Counseling this summer, wasn't really sure what I wanted to do, but I did want to actually LIKE my job and do something worthwhile that can be helpful to people...so I decided on doing hospital work. Not nursing, but something in that field.
I love to work out, and am going to dedicate myself fully to the gym this year now that I'll have the free time to focus on it.
I grew up an only child...which might be why I take friendship so seriously... growing up, it was just me, my mom and my grandparents. We lost my grandmother just before Christmas this year. She was greatly loved and she'll definitely be greatly missed.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to see my grandma happy and healthy once again. This song makes me think of her.

Music:

I HATE country music.... keep it away from me.

I like anything but that, really. I'm a big R&B fan, but I think it was better in the 90's with Jodeci, Shai and TLC...and before that with Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and the Temptations... today's R&B is alright, there are some of them doing it well like Ne-Yo, Mario and Trey Songz, but the R&B music today overall is kinda weak... The older players like Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey and R. Kelly are still the best today, but they've been doing it since the music was good back in the day.
The same could be said for hip-hop... the Soulja Boy shit was just HORRIBLE... but Lupe Fiasco, Common, Nas, Ludacris... they all hold it down. There's still some good rappers out there... just gotta sift through the BS to find it..
I like rock music, mostly the older stuff like Jimi Hendrix... but I do dig punk rock too.

I like myspace because of the different musical artists that are out there trying to make it. There are some great sounds out there. Listening to the radio, you'd only think there are 10 songs that exist every 2 months.... I can't stand the radio. I got Sirius, that's some good stuff right there. The Faction is excellent for a mix of hip-hop and punk rock. Jason Ellis is a maniac, though.

Movies:

..There are sooooo many movies I like, so many different kinds... Braveheart's my favorite though.

Television:

..Right now, House. That's the show. Heroes too.

Books:

..I normally like to read mysteries, fiction and fantasy. Sometimes, religious books, but more about the history and origins, not the "tell you what to do" religious books.

Angels and Demons was good. DaVinci Code too. I also read all the Harry Potters, lol. I loved them. Right now, I'm getting into Tanya Huff.

Heroes:

..I say be your own hero. There are people to find inspiration from, maybe people that have made mistakes before you. I knew a few of them growing up. They say "do as I say, not as a I do", lol. But nobody's perfect. Even people you consider your heroes. I think you can learn a lot more from those that have made mistakes, those who know they're not perfect. Maybe those are my heroes...
