PACHANGA LATINO MUSIC FESTIVAL INFO:

WHAT IS IT?

Pachanga is a Latin themed music, cultural arts and food festival dedicated to showcasing the vibrant blend of Latino-created music and art along with the impact it has on American culture today.

WHAT DOES "PACHANGA" MEAN?

From Spanish it is literally translated as “lively party”.

WHEN IS IT?

The inaugural Pachanga Festival will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008. It will be the flagship event during Austin’s 3rd Annual Latino Music Month, a city-wide effort across a wide variety of genres throughout the month of May.

WHERE IS IT?

Waterloo Park in downtown Austin, Texas. The park’s official address is 403 E. 15th St. 78701. The entrance to the festival will be on the Northwest corner of the park on Trinity St. near the 15th St. intersection.

WHAT TIME IS IT?

We are planning on opening doors at 12 noon and the park curfew is at 10pm.

WHERE DO I PARK?

There is plentiful street parking and (for a small fee) state parking garages which are directly across the street on Trinity St. between 12th St. & 14th St. - just west of the park.

IS THERE A CHARITY INVOLVED?

Yes, proceeds will benefit ALMA (Austin Latino Music Association). See the community page for more information on ALMA.

CAN WE BRING IN OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGES?
You are allowed to bring one sealed bottle of water per person; otherwise, there will be food, beverages (including alcohol) and more for sale inside.

ARE PETS ALLOWED IN THE PARK/FEST?

Sorry, no pets of any kind are allowed.

WHERE IS THE BOX OFFICE/WILL CALL LOCATED?

Box office/will call is located on the west side of the park – Trinity St. and 14th St.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

It is an all ages event. Children twelve (12) and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.

WHAT PERSONAL ITEMS ARE PERMITTED?

The following items are permitted: (1) sealed bottle of water per person, blankets, cell phones, strollers (for children four years and younger), cameras (still shot only), back packs, purses (regular size) and binoculars.

WHAT PERSONAL ITEMS ARE PROHIBITED?

The following items are prohibited: guns, knives (or any other weapons), wallet chains, glass, alcohol, illegal substances, pets, video cameras, folding chairs, framed or large backpacks.

ARE THERE ANY ATMS ON THE FESTIVAL GROUNDS?

There will be 1 ATM located by the front gate/box office and 1 just inside the front gate for your convenience.

WILL THE FESTIVAL BE CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER?

The Pachanga Festival will be as scheduled – rain or shine.

OTHER INFO:
· No “in and outs” will be allowed.
· All event patrons and belongings may be searched when entering the festival grounds.
· Portable bathrooms will be available (including handicapped).
