Tom Trago

Tom Trago (1983) is hard at work producing and just finished 3 years of study on jazz and contemporary music. Playing in every Dutch club with turntables and continuously stretching his DJ boundaries, he developed his sound into an eclectic up-tempo mix of house, disco and techno. His many styles and divers tastes in music breathe life into his sets. It’s bold, imaginative and fresh which pays off to much respect from people in the scene, in and outside Amsterdam.
A solo artist but on the same time a man of collaborations. Tom is working hard on new stuff to rock the dance floors. After years spending behind the desks 2008 will be the year of the studio and live shows. With a new studio spot in the middle of Amsterdam Tom will be able to work with as many creative people that share the love and feel for his passion. Tom and San Proper give a handsome nod in the direction of Detroit while Tom and the PARRA SOUNDSYSTEM surprise the crowd abroad with the best of everything to put rock and roll back on the map. On top of that, Tom is half of the producer duo YURO TRAGO who take sound a step further than the future and preformed live-shows in Club 11 and the Planetarium in the Amsterdam Zoo.
Tom will continue in 2008 with releasing his own records at Rush Hour label and is currently working on a remix for Philiipe Zdar, singer of Cassius. With keyboards and a vocoder under his arm Tom brings his performance also live and solo. He’s been traveling to Paris and Bern to perform live at Le Paris Paris and Wasserwerk and in hometown Amsterdam at Paradiso and SugarFactory. Depending on space and setting Tom brings a band, with San Proper on guitar, this formation has been rocking the crowds of TodayArts Festival in De Hague, De Melkweg in Amsterdam and the Noorderslag Festival in Groningen. Future plans are getting close. Soon this formation will collaborate and produce with (vocal) talent. And when you think this is enough for him, all in the spirit of promoting new and inspiring electronic music, Tom has a weekly radio show at Lijn5, broadcasted through the whole Netherlands on Monday night.
Back to finish what he started Tom is also still part of 08bar, which he started in 2005. The 08Bar concept stimulates talent and promotes electronic music in Holland, and beyond. Besides organizing parties, 08bar also puts out records which contain a compilation of the best tracks that are submitted at the 08Bar parties, with exclusive tracks from some producers that already have albums out, as well as some really talented producers nobody knew about yet.~ Next to all this, Tom did a project on Kindred Spirits called “Fluor Green” in which he is putting Amsterdam on the map for dirty instrumental beats. On this LP for NOD NAVIGATORS he exudes the warmth of soul music combined w/electronic beats for a head nodding odyssey.
Tom Trago is holding down residencies in Amsterdam (FlexBar, Paradiso) Paris (Le Paris Paris) and Switserland (Wasserwerk) and flew over the world to play in New York, London, Berlin and Barcelona.
