About Me

Originally from the East Coast. Came to Missouri to attend grad. school at Wash. U. I miss New England and trips to Montreal very much. It is hard to be away from my family and friends. Came here to study social work in HIV and addictions at Wash U. Graduated in May 2006. Met a nice guy while a student and stayed in St. Louis partly because I was in love. Its a whole lot cheaper here than in Boston too! We split up a few months back. In any case, I am pursuing a PhD program and have no idea where I might end up. Applying to PhD programs now. First choice is Columbia second U Mich.I have had a hard life. I have faced a great deal of suffering. I believe it is my "calling" to be an agent of change in this world. I believe we can all transform cycles of suffering into cycles of liberation and joy. But we must first be present with the suffering. That is hard. Being present with suffering, in my view, cannot be done without a firm footing in something spiritual. If you do not have a sense of meaning that comes from beyond materiality, then your heart becomes hardened.I am not enlightened and may never reach enlightenment. The important thing is that I am on the path and I am reaching out to help others as a guide and coach in their own journey through life.

My Interests

meditation philosophy reading a good book drinking coffee in a cafe letting the time drift by favorite cities: Montreal, Prague, and New York prefer to keep life a bit more low key I am not into the party or gay social scene. I like to socialize, but I don't get too crazy. Sometimes a take-out and a movie at home is the best. Other times its fun as hell to go out and get a little wild.
