I am the prince of perpetual peace...

About Me

Often a transient...at least in terms of self-actualization. I work way too much right now and wonder if that was the purpose of working all of those years to get to this point. Slightly ironic; or dramatic...depends on how I've spiked my morning chai. I've realized (or rather recently remembered:) that I'm a descendent of brilliance, but I'm still having difficulty connecting with my past manifestations. I'm as easy-going as the come, unless I'm on another crack binge...oh me and my crack binges:::::: I'm a contemplative observer of optimism and realism clashing in a sea of senselessness...I guess that makes me a participatory voyeur. I hope to one day be a happy writer, but not untill I'm done saving as many pieces of the world as possible."I am the prince of perpetual peace playing in a drama of sad and happy dreams on the stage of experience."

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

....People half-way but I'll always go an extra mile.Oh yeah, and Miles Davis...even if he was an asshole

Music:

Most things are good, but I've never really been a buff of country, bluegrass, or folk. I dig hip-hop: Kweli, Mos Def, Saul Williams, Roots, Common (even though I have some serious issues with him right now) Nas, Aesop Rock, Lif, Little Brother, Tha Thinka (Auragin Music), and all of my underground cats in Chicago and beyond! Mellow Beats: Portishead, Massive Attack, RJD2, Blockhead, Diplo, Madlib, El-P. Jazz; Duke, Louie & Ella, Miles, John C. Pretty much if it can paint a dramatic backdrop for whatever I've decided to do to occupy my time at the moment...then it works! Life is art, so music is life.

Books:

I'm a sucker for those considered to be great literary classics...Dostoevsky, Salinger, Kafka, Hesse, Kerouac, Orwell etc. I love most anything Vonnegut wrote. I'm a fan of Ben Okri "The Famished Road" check it out if you haven't yet...it'll rip open your dream world--holy shit. That's the pleasure, business (theory) is folks like hooks, Friere, Gramshi, Fanon, and anyone representing an alternate paradigm....Poetry includes, but is not limited to: Rumi/Shams, Saul Williams, Kerouac (again, I know), and my own. Pretty screwed I know, but mine is the best!
