Movies:

Anything independent or foreign film. They tend to be more open and interesting. Currently, I like Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring by Kim Ki Duk, great director. The Kurosawa flms are great too, esp. Dreams. I like action, comedy, horror and suspense too. The weirder the better LOL. Certain docs like Super Size Me and Farenheit 9/11.

Television:

Law & Order (SVU) & (CI), Nip/tuck, Project Runway ( they make me laugh)- cool designs

Books:

Sherman Alexie, Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou, Nawal El-Sadawi, Hemingway, Maxine Hong Kingston, etc.I read all sorts of newspapers and mags like TONY, Times, Village Voice, Native Voices, Art in America, whatever piques my interest at the time LOL

Heroes:

Mom (activist), MLK, Malcolm X, my pastor Wyatt Tee Walker ( such an active person with social change- wrote lots of books too), Rosa Parks ( met her at Schomburg during a HS trip), there are so many out there unsung
