Ride with the Reverend ! !

About Me

How did I get here ? I never should have lived this long ! The Reverend Jim is originally from West Texas, born in Lubbock, raised in Odessa.I escaped The Flatlands after discovering such things as water & trees . Now I am safely where I belong in Austin , Tejas . You know ever so often God gives Tejas a little shaking and all the nuts roll to the center . And here we all are , where in the words of Hank Hill "There's always music playing and everyone drives a convertible ". Except Hank didn't mean it as a compliment. . . . Hats off there to Austin resident Mike Judge

My Interests

Music,Motorcycles,Movies . The 3M of life its ownself . Best when enjoyed all at once, gimme dat "Easy Rider" oh yeah

I'd like to meet:

Any and all of the poor souls that I've wronged in the past . Or maybe just had a drink with , it's hard to keep the two categories separate . The Reverends 52 now so I've had plenty of opportunities for both . But I'm still going strong so don't hesitate to add your name to either list.

Music:

There's two kinds of music , Music From The Soul , and Commercial Crap . Currently I'm splitting most of my listening time between jazz (Louis Armstrong,Elias Haslanger) & Texas honky-tonk (Dale Watson,Red Voelkert). But throw in Motorhead,Don Walser,Janis Ian

Movies:

Casablanca,Paris Texas,This Is Spinal Tap,Spirited Away,Gimme Shelter,Blade Runner...And did I mention Easy Rider ?

Television:

Most American programming right now falls under the Commercial Crap category. My absolute favorite right now is on BBC, Torchwood !It's like The X Files and Dr Who combined, totally bad ass ! I still hang on to The Simpson & King of The Hill.Stephen Colbert rocks ! ! !

Books:

Little,Big by John Crowley . Pretty much anything by William Gibson . And in a category by itself there's The Little Prince .An odd choice for an old biker I know ,but it's truly a thing of beauty

Heroes:

When I was in elementary school I would have said John Glenn & Bart Starr ,dating myself there...In High Shool I would have said Kris Kristofferson . Now I would say that heroes are a bad idea to start with ,just try to make ourself more admirable
