I love to cook and to constantly improve upon my cooking, and to make recipes "mine" as to add or delete components or change certain methods to make it unique. I strive also to nail the core recipes of the Southern cooking I was raised on, as well as the new influences I find through where I work, my husband's tastes and the foods of his upbringing and I try to perfect them all!

I am currently reading The Complete Works of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (LOVE it!).... Recently trying to cover as many of the classics as possible. Dickens, Austen, Brontë Sisters, Steinbeck, American Indian novelists, for starters...got a HUGE list to cover, tons of books in my bookcase waiting for me and a list to check out at the library...Not too much into the pretentious deep thinking trendy writers, as my purpose for reading is to take a break from my reality....my reading is a work in progress. I have an extensive cookbook collection, many antiques, I read them like novels as well...and yes, for fun I've read all of the Harry Potter Books, Lemony Snicket and going to dive into the Narnia series as well....Oh, and enjoyed the "His Dark Materials" series by Philip Pullman, excellent....more to come...
My four children. They inspire me to do my best. They give so much unconditionally, and they are my legacy, and are the forever ongoing examples of my life's pursuit. Simply put, all the goals I set to achieve in my life I can see in the eyes of my children. If more people would just realize it's as simple as that.(oh, and Mother Teresa)
