Mihai Nistor (a.k.a. Mistor) was born on 07.07.1988 and from that moment, by the melodic cry of his vocal cords, he knew he was born for greatness ( not true, but imagine how cool it would be if it actually was :)) ). His hometown of Cluj Napoca, Romania is now quite the clubbing city and has been for a long time. The clubbing and electronic music scene developed quickly due to the fact that every year about 200 000 students come to this city to attend university from all over the world. When he was 11 he recieved his first computer which in a matter of weeks was filled to the max with music and computer games. As far as outside musical influence is concerned, he was brought up listening to the likes of Rod Stewart (his mom's fav), Chris De Bourgh, Sting, Chris Isaak, Michael Jackson, Bad Boys Blue and other artists of the 80's and 90's. When in secondary school, Mihai discovered his passion for Rock music through the songs of Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Staind, System of a Down... he loved this music so much, he dreamed of becoming the lead guitarist in a rock band for many years. Until he stumbled upon electronic music. Sounds of The Prodigy, ATB, Faithless, and later on Tiesto, Above and Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Luke Chable, Sasha changed his life completely. The deciding point of his life was when he bought Sasha's compilation Fundacion NYC with which he instantly fell in love. He had wondered what it was like to be a DJ for a long time but never actually gave it any thought until he bought a new computer in 2005 and started playing around with Atomic's Virtual DJ, playing his favourite tracks and madly aplying effects on every single bar of musical piece he could find. He came in contact with more and more music as time went on and in july 2006 he witnessed the set that made him decide for the rest of his life that he was destined to become a DJ. In september 2006 he released his first promotional mix onto the web for his friends to listen. To this day, it's his most popular yet and clocked over 500 downloads in the first few days. He started releasing a new mix every month and live session bedroom recordings which made him quite famous among the young population in his town. It was clear that he had a talent for it. In the winter of 2006 he discovered the sounds that define him today... the sounds of Loco Dice, Gabriel Ananda, Guido Schneider, Kaliber, Rekorder, Oliver Huntemann, Stephan Bodzin... He was hooked. 2007 came along and he caught the opportunity to play warm up sets at the Oscar Club in Cluj Napoca for the likes of Raresh, Pagal, Pedro, DJ Carlos, DJ Liquid, Raul Roquez, and many other local and international names. After finishing high school he set out to conquer the world of electronic music by moving to London in January 2008 to study at the best music college in the world: Point Blank Music College. He will be attending Music Production and Sound Engineering courses for 2 years and has already completed the ultimate DJ course which he took to expand his knowledge about dj-ing. In the future his goals are to play at Fabric in London, Midi in Cluj Napoca and at Watergate in Berlin among other clubs. Keep your ears peeled out for this kid who will take the industry by assault in a few years with his emotional DJ sets for which he is already known and with his future productions.
