About Me

What up y'all. This is your boy Jae Skrilla. Just to give you a little history on my roots, I was born in Eureka, California. Lived in Washington state for a bit. Then moved out to Virginia Beach, VA. I spent the majority of my life on the east coast. I'm definately feelin the east coast style of flowing/beats coming from Virginia. I've been into to rap & hip-hop for about 14 years now. The first albums that I bought were from the beastie boys and run dmc back in the day. Basketball is my favorite sport. I actually played in a summer league against Allen Iverson back in Virginia. I played shooting guard. I got mad handles & a smooth shot, but lost my hops when i tore my ACL.When I moved out to Vail, Colorado, I started snowboarding a lot. I testrided for a binding company called Technine. I moved to Salt Lake to get into the snowboarding industry. My heart and soul is my four year old son and my beautiful two year old daughter. Spittin' rhymes has been a hobby of mine for a long time. I'm down to collab w/pretty much any mc as long as you got skillz. Holla at me if your down. I've been peepin' some nice beats up on soundclick. Check me out at www.soundclick.com/Jeremiah1436. Shot out to my boy Eric, who records me. Big up to Rock Solid Studios. Shot out to Get Gwap Ent., Showdown Ent., Major League Motoring, & Great Poets Society. We comin at ya real big in the '08. You can also check me out on www.radiorocksolid.com. Reppin dat underground hip hop shit ya dig. Go cop the new EP 'Double Standard'. This is the first release from Jae Skrilla who brings an east coast style that's inspired by artists such as Big L and Dilated Peoples, and lays them down skillfully on some very west coast inspired beats. With a wide variety of tracks on this 6-song EP the listener gets a taste of very different aspects of Jae Skrilla's life. "Wild in tha Club" starts out the EP with a psychedelic, up-tempo club beat with a chopped and screwed hook that adds a touch of southern style. Featured artists Black Dimonz and One Deuce, hailing from Texas, further add to the southern flavor. The next track "In The City" is a slower, more underground style raw street track featuring King Smooth Ace from Seattle that’s perfect for bumping while riding through the streets of your city. "My Life" is a very east coast sounding track that tells Jae Skrilla's life story, one that "wasn't always one of ambition and glory." From the pain of losing a family member to finding ones self and starting a family this songs universal message about struggle and personal growth resonates with us all. "Strapped Up" takes us to a dark world of gun violence on the streets, featured artists G-Rated and C. Blaq make it clear that this group of rappers should NOT be tested. "Last Call" brings us back to the club scene with a song devoted to drinking, smoking, and partying with your friends. The lovely Vickie graces this song with her sexy voice advising the listener to "smoke the green, not the brown." Rumors wraps up the disc on a serious note with a track written for those people spreading rumors and talking shit about Jae Skrilla behind his back. Clearly agitated, Skrilla reminds those speculating and hating to "stay the fuck out my business!"
