Some say we're born into the fray...

About Me

"Even the most beautiful scenery is no longer assured of our love after we have lived in it for three months, and some distant coast attracts our avarice: possessions are generally diminished by possession..."
I'm Davies, at Peter Symonds College in Winchester, doing Philosophy, Psychology, English Lang/Lit & Critical Thinking, as well as doing Film last year.
I'm completely driven by music, in pretty much all its forms, particularly CKY, Megadeth, Buckethead, Metallica, Foreign Objects, David Bowie, World Under Blood, Clutch, Primus, and pretty much anything else you care to mention. Except for My Chemical Romance. That shit sucks.
I play bass in 3 bands and do vocals for one of those. Currently on my plate: material for the bands, a low-key ambient solo project, as well as an solo / duo acoustic project and film scores. I've been playing bass and guitar since I was 12 years of age and I sometimes wonder how I ever did without them.

My Interests

Music - playing it, writing it, producing it, listening to it, whatever.
Comedy, generally in stand-up form
Photography (me, dumbly pointing and clicking)

I'd like to meet:

Anyone else who actually gets this madness. Failing that, a load of my dead heroes will do nicely.

Live by This
"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while.
Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us; they say; 'Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid ever, because this is just a ride...' And we...kill those people. 'Shut him up. We have a lot invested in this ride. Shut him up. Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and my family. This just has to be real.'
It's just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that and leave these fucking demons running amok. Jesus...murdered. Martin Luther King...murdered. Malcolm X...murdered. Gandhi...murdered. John Lennon...murdered. Reagan...wounded.
But it doesn't matter, because...it's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defense each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over; not one human being excluded...and we could explore outer space, together, as one race, in peace forever.
