About Me

what up bitches! I'm really bad at these self description things but here goes.... Lived in SD for the past 5 years after graduating from Washington University in St. Louis where I was a Biology major. Instead of going to med school i came out with some fellow alums to start a business. Up until July 2005 we owned one of the larger record stores in SD where we also sold clothing and DJ gear, unfortuantely we had to close our doors as our building needed to be "earthquake proofed". We had always planned on reopening upon completion of construction, but ultimately decided it was not in our best interest to go forward with the shop.other than that, i think i'm pretty easy going and laid back. Despite being involved in the nightclub industry, i'm not the most outgoing person. I tend to be kind of quiet and shy until i get to know people. I love DJing (mainly house and drum and bass) you can usually catch me playing the dinner sets on thursdays at confidential, or at the rooftop at the new FIREHOUSE on saturday nights or sunday afternoons, in addition to occasional slots at Airport Lounge, The New IVY HOTEL, and even an occasional trip to LA .. DJ schedule is below, and i've finally made a link to a mix for download- check out the blog yo! target="_blank" style="font-family:helvetica; font-size:12px" MySpace Layouts

Music:

I like a little bit of everything. before i got into the whole dj thing i was into pink floyd, U2, Sublime, Outkast, Red Hot Chili Peppers to name a few. Now I'm mainly into house music, although i like it all my favorite is the groovy/deep/soulful san francisco sound. Favorite producers include Fred Everything, Johnny Fiasco, Diz, Derrick Carter, DJ Heather, JT Donaldson, Andy Caldwell, Joey Youngman, DJ Sneak, Mark Farina, Jake Childs, Swirl People, East Coast Boogiemen, Lawnchair Generals; Iz, Demarkus Lewis, Thomas Sahs,Tortured Soul, Masters at Work, Louie Vega, Uneaq, Littlemen, Wally Callerio, Collete, Greenskeepers, Broken Home, Joshua Heath, Jazzy Eyewear, Kinky Movement, Troydon, Anything off of Drop Music, Mobile Trax, Blockhead Recordings; Amenti, Agave, Doubledown/Lowdown, Fetish Recordings, Myna Music, So Sound, Down South Music... believe me the list goes on.... Also, recently taken up Drum and Bass, not so much the dirty aggressive techy dnb (which i like, i just don't play), but more the deep liquid funk sound. I love Calibre, High Contrast, Shy FX, London Elektricity, JuJu, Logistics, Mathematics, Visionary, LTJ Bukem, Nu-Tone, Commix and pretty much anything coming off Hospital Records, Advance Recordings, or Signature Records. One of my friends turned me on to trip hop/downtempo and now i'm hooked... So never thought i'd say this... been feeling some electro these days... dirty south, klaas, tonite only, global deejays, jeroenski, tocadisco, tv rock, dave guetta, simian mobile disco, deadmau5, fedde le grand...

Movies:

Super Troopers (meow what is so damn funny?), Dazed and Confused, City of God, Lord of the Rings, Kill Bill, Half Baked, Traffic, Wedding Crashers, Lord of War, The Constant Gardner,Blow... oh, and HAPPY FEET is officially the best movie EVER!

Television:

SOUTH PARK!!!! I'm totally obsessed. Chapelle's Show is up there too, Entourage, oh and the news, if there's nothing else on i'm either watching MSNBC or CNN...yeah, I'm a dork. at this point i'm convinced the Grey's Anatomy is the best show on tv....

Books:

I don't read that much these days, but i love Harry Potter, i'm down with anything by Kurt Vonnegut, I also like Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I just finished the Da Vinci Code... i'm not religious so i enjoyed it

Heroes:

do i have to have a hero?
